Nena dropped her gun to her side and ran a hand through her hair. She paused as her gaze fell on the scorched spot on the pavement. A few bits of clothing was all that remained of Archimedes.
Nena knelt beside the spot and pressed her hand against the area. “What happened to you, Archimedes?” she whispered. She raised her hand and turned it over to study the black smudge that covered her palm. “My fate. . .”
The door to the parking garage swung open and Peter staggered out. He leaned against the entrance and took in the view before he frowned. “What happened?”
Nena stood and brushed the black on her pants. “Azazel killed Archimedes.”
