3 Jack led his companions through the white maze to the slightly detached building that housed the firing range and the lab of the mechanical genius, Archimedes. The genius himself sat at on his stool at his workbench. He was hunched over a small grenade-shaped metal object. In one of his hands was a tiny metal pen with a pointed end, and in the other hand was a soldering iron. The two delicate instruments hovered over a plate that covered a side of the grenade-like object. “Archimedes!” Jack yelled. The inventor started up. The soldering iron swept over the plate and knocked the grenade onto the floor. Archimedes tossed his tools onto the bench and leapt off his stool.
