Chapter 86

Kael's POV I had drifted away, it was a very cool morning as I allowed the morning breeze to lure me into a deep sleep. Just then, my name echoed from outside, piercing through my half-sleep. "Alpha Kael! Alpha Kael!" My eyes snapped open, instinctively sharp and alert, but Criseda’s voice immediately followed, soft and cloying. “Honey, leave them. Soraya will attend to whatever it is. I’m cold, and I need you to keep me warm.” She wrapped her arms around me, trying to draw me back into the bed. But the minute her hands landed on my body, I felt a bit irritated. I flung them off and stood up abruptly. "It could be an emergency," I said, already reaching for my slippers. "Everything is an emergency except for me," Criseda muttered, her voice thick with the usual complaints.
