I Got The Job

948 Words
Sophia Saturday came and went quickly, for which I am grateful, it was a busy day at work and I got out later than usual. I woke up Sunday morning a little late, however, I felt excited to go for my run. I have yet to tell Tina about Eric but I don't see a point in that, Eric and I are just joggers who share a liking to running in the park but also don't mind conversing. Doing all my morning routines in a reach to head out, I fixed my bed, washed my face, and brushed my teeth. Since it was a bit windy outside today but still a pleasant temperature, I put on my running gear and a hoodie. Not have enough time to have morning tea as I left in a hurry, still making sure I texted Tina that I left out. Once I got to the park, Eric was sitting on the same bench from Friday, it seemed like he was waiting for me to arrive. I approached him and he gave me a warm smile and of course, I returned the smile. "Good morning beautiful, I didn't think you were gonna show up today", he replied. "I was just running a little late, I had a long day at work yesterday and I overslept", I explained to him. "Well, I'm glad you were able to make it today". Would you like to join me for tea after our run Sophia? he asked I didn't have to think hard about whether I wanted to join Eric for tea or not, since I didn't have my morning tea today that would be excellent. "I would love to join you, Eric, thank you for inviting me", I told him. A huge grin spread across his face like he had won the lottery, I couldn't help but smile. We went to the same coffee shop after our run and we both ordered the same thing from the last time. We chatted about our work week and this time around we didn't spend long at the coffee shop because Eric insisted that I also join him for lunch. Waking up late this morning put me off my schedule so I was feeling a little hungry. I decide to take him up on his offer to have lunch. We had a good time at a nearby diner and the food was amazing. It's been a long time since I had this much fun and did not have to worry about my life. The next day I went to my first interview after work and that job was a bust. It wasn't what I wanted, nor did they offer much. When Friday finally came around, I skipped my morning run at the park to have the two interviews I had scheduled, maybe they would be more promising than the first interview I had. I was dressed in a nice dress suit and heels and headed to my interview which wasn't bad but I was looking forward to my next interview. I was more interested in the second job because I had always wanted to work for them. F.A.C, which is the top advertising company in the world, with great opportunities and benefits that come along with it. After finishing up with my first interview, they wanted to hire me on the spot but I told them to give me over the weekend to think it over before I gave them an answer, and they respected my decision. At my second interview, I got there early and I made sure I was ready for any questions, and my resume was perfect. The F.A.C. building was huge, clean, and buzzing with a lot of people. I waited about a half hour before the receptionist called my name so I could be seen by HR. I was at the interview for over an hour as a man from HR looked over my resume and projects I completed in college. The man was impressed as he saw all my accomplishments from college, next the man wanted me to meet the hiring staff. This was it, I think I'm gonna get hired to work at my dream job. I waited for a short time until I was called once again to see the hiring team. Taking a deep breath as I walked into the room with three people. They greeted me warmly and they were impressed themselves. After they talked amongst each other, I was getting nervous and my hands were getting sweaty. The hiring team separated and announced to me that my college projects were amazing and they can't wait to see what I can do. Then the most beautiful words I heard from a job, welcome to the team they said. I just wanted to jump for joy but I kept my composure, they let me know that they would email me all the information I needed and I would start the upcoming Monday morning. As soon as I left the interview I headed to the nearest restroom to have a premature celebration. When I finally got home after the late afternoon, I told Tina the great news. She celebrated with me and we took out our best wine as I told her all the details of the interview and how my day went. Now tomorrow when I go to work at the restaurant, I will have to tell Tom that Saturday is my last day and I won't be returning unless it's to get my last check. I know how much it is important to give a two-week notice but it is F.A.C. for goodness sake, I can't miss this opportunity.
