So much for a peaceful day; once I returned home from a very unpleasant interaction with Quinton, I hoped Tina would still be home; I needed to tell her what happened.
After entering our apartment, I called Tina's name several times, but she did not respond. I felt pretty uncomfortable and disgusted from being around Quinton for too long, so I decided to head straight to the bathroom and take a much-needed hot shower.
I turned on the faucet and let the water run for a few minutes, waiting for it to reach the desired temperature. Once it was hot enough, I stepped into the shower, feeling the warm water cascading over my skin, washing away all the horrible aroma of Quinton.
The steam from the shower filled the air, making it difficult to see anything beyond the shower curtain. As I stood there, lost in my thoughts, I couldn't help but wonder if it was Quinton being serious, if he had gone completely mad.
After enduring a series of unpleasant encounters in the morning, I found myself mentally exhausted and needing respite.
Unwilling to dwell on the negative experiences any longer, I headed to the kitchen to grab a quick bite. Despite the early afternoon hour, my energy levels ran low, and I desperately needed to recharge.
As I sat down on the couch to catch up on some TV, I couldn't help but feel the weight of the day's events bearing down on me.
Eventually, the coziness of the couch and the hum of the television lulled me into a peaceful slumber, allowing me to escape from the turmoil of the day, if only for a little while.
As I was enjoying a peaceful slumber on the couch, I was jolted awake by the sound of the front door slamming shut. It was Tina, who had just entered the house.
I rubbed my eyes, trying to shake off the sleepiness, and sat straight to get a better look around. The room was dimly lit, and it took me a few seconds to get my bearings. Looking at the clock on the wall, I wondered how long I had been dozing off.
Tina apologized for waking me up as she didn't realize I was in the living room. I reassured her it was okay and said I needed to get up anyway. Curious about her whereabouts, I asked, "By the way, Tina, where were you?"
Tina had informed me earlier that she had scheduled a viewing for some suburban houses. When she returned home, I knew I had to tell her about what had happened earlier with Quinton.
She took a seat beside me, and I proceeded to give her a detailed account of my interaction with my ex-partner. I shared every minute detail with her so that she was fully informed about the situation.
"Wow, has Quinton gone crazy since you left him or what? I think he is insane," Tina spoke out. "I don't know his problem, but he must be insane to ask me to help him with his work," I said. I also told her that the calls I've been getting from an unknown number were from Quinton.
After returning home, I made sure to block his number so he wouldn't be able to contact me anymore. I hope he understands I am not interested in talking to him anymore, especially since he has Rachel to keep him company.
As the night progressed, I finally found time to unwind and delve into my favorite book. Meanwhile, Tina had left to hit the clubs, a typical Friday night ritual for her.
I wasn't particularly keen on joining her at the club scene, as I wasn't looking to find a man to share my bed with or even engage in a relationship with anyone. Instead, I preferred to immerse myself in the world of literature and savor the peace of my company.
Some people may say I'm boring or stiff, however, what is the point of going out partying to find some for meaningless s*x? I would rather be intimate with someone I'm finna marry.
Since I've already done that, and look what happened to me, I shake my head to get those unpleasant thoughts out.
Anyway, I have an early shift tomorrow morning, and I would like to be mentally and physically prepared for the day at work. Hopefully I hear back from one of the advertising companies soon to better my situation.
