6. Our paths clashed again, Aria. Shit, the magazine! Aria looked at it then at the shelf. She was bloody standing near the shelves holding Star and Sunshine magazine, and he was going to be approaching here. 'What should I do? I don't want to be caught by them.' She thought, biting her lips in hesitation. Her palms sweated and cheeks started turning crimson because she was yet again lost in the maze of his eyes. He had a frown on his face and his lips twisted from time to time while he complained to Kai as in about how the magazine and its articles were affecting him; nonetheless his charm never declined. "Dude, you should see my w******p! It is flooded with messages from random girls and I feel like my number has been leaked. Just look at the mass messages I have received ever since the launch of this new issue. I suspect they have mentioned my number." He complained showing his phone. The guys paused by the shelf of colouring books for kids and started laughing and joking over a mermaid book. They passed comments on the picture on the cover as the mermaid was gorgeous with big breasts, a small waist and a body that they were crushing on. Kai kissed the book's cover and remarked, "If I get a girl like her... I swear I'll never turn around and look at anyone else. Gosh, her body's a blessing!" He hugged it to his heart. "Huh, bastards don't get such beautiful girls and since you are one of them, you know," Neil smirked with a shrug of his shoulders and purposely paused in the middle of his sentence. The guys' eyes popped out hearing him and burst out into fits of laughter. Their jaws hurt and stomach ached but they could not stop it at all. In fact Kai's reaction was more funny than Neil's remark as he loosened his hold on the book, let it fall, and like an innocent kid who is bullied at school by a fat boy sniffed making crying faces. Seems like they have forgotten the cause of coming here. Aria took it as her chance and immediately placed the magazine in its place and slipped out of there, hiding somewhere away. She faced another stack of books and pretended as if she was looking between them when she was really waiting for them to get done and leave. Or rather, give her a chance to escape by staying in the same air as him and the bullies curled her toes. "Hey Aria, we met again." Someone said near her ear and she jumped, as a result of which, she lost her balance and fell behind at the owner of the voice. "Girl easy, why do you always get so hyped up?" She was held by the waist and made to stand properly. It was Jake, the ever so charming and handsome son of the alpha. The guy whom she was trying to hide from had found her. They stood face to face and close to each other such that his breaths hit her cheeks, making her turn scarlet. It made the book from her hand drop as her eyes fearfully eyed him, "I... I am... I am sorry." shivering crazily, she said in a low voice. "Why are you saying sorry?" Jake attempted to touch her shoulders but withdrew his hands. She was shy and stayed away from guys. He could not stop wondering if she ever had a boyfriend. And he was the kind of guy that hung out with her bullies and messed with different girls in the school. "Please let me go." overwhelmed by her answer, he stepped backwards with flickering lashes. "I am not holding you. You are free to go." He smiled moving aside so that she could leave. He can't blame her reaction either as she was a human and from the low class. Irrespective of being born to a strong hunter in the pack that was feared by everyone, Aria was bullied by the kids in school and humiliated by the sassy girls. She was used to getting a harsh reaction, so he could justify her freaked out retort over his positive behavior towards her. He let her hurry and go at once, leaving the book at his feet. But perhaps she was going to buy it and he ruined her plan. Henceforth, Jake picked it up and walked behind her, "Hey, listen to me!" Aria stopped and swung. She was scarcely some steps away when he stopped her. As she brought her gaze at him, "Maybe you were going to buy this book." he showed it to her. She saw in his hand at the book he held. It was an encyclopedia featuring various creatures in their world and where they originated. Well, she had not even seen the book when she picked it. It was just that she used it as a prop. The book she needed was the one he had come here looking for— the magazine. "Umm, no... I don't want this book. I was just checking it." She said. Jake nevertheless pulled her hand out and placed it on her palm saying, "You don't have to lie, Aria. Had it not been the intention of purchasing it, you would not look at it." "I really don't want this book. I..." She didn't have the money to buy it. It took her months to collect the cost price of that magazine. Wasting her hardly earned and saved money on this expensive encyclopedia just to show him was not her scheme. She did come here to buy, but it was the magazine. "You sure don't want this?" "Nope, I was just looking at it." "Cool, I'll go put it back. And honestly," Jake's mouth curved up as he resumed. "...I was in fact wondering why would a sweet girl like you have an interest in such dangerous encyclopedias and monsters?" "Umm, I don't like monsters." She was not sure what she was saying. "Happy to hear that." That positive expression never fell a dim from his facade. "Okay then, I will put it back." he added further and twirled around, striding back to that shelf. As soon as he left her alone, Aria released a breath that had been stuck in her lungs. She clutched the strap of her bag as she proceeded to escape. Sadly, just as she spun around and prepared to run, she realized that the door was blocked by Kai. He was standing at the threshold with crossed arms and a smirking face. "Our paths clashed again, Aria!" There was a naughty line at the corners of his mouth that turned Aria's spine into steel. Tbc... (What will happen now? Is it plotted once again?
