An announcement that they would have their first field task excited the new advanced students. They did not know what the field task was yet, but being out in the field was energizing.
Weapons training in the morning was Mattie’s least favorite training. She preferred sparring, where she excelled, to start her day, but she had no choice. Her group of eleven met with Colt as he reviewed the weapons, dividing the team into two groups. Mattie was assigned to shooting practice. This was not her strength, but probably why he assigned it to her.
