Hunter laid in bed, his arms and legs wrapped around his mate. It had been over a century since he felt the warmth of his mate in his arms. They both fell asleep, letting the bond wrap around them.
The rain had stopped sometime during the night. Howling outside woke Hunter from his peaceful sleep. Another howl sounded in the distance, a cry for help. Carefully, Hunter untangled himself from his mate, trying to get out of bed before she woke.
