Chapter 6: Parents

822 Words
Faith's POV I was feeling exhausted from work today. "Welcome home my sweetheart, dinner's on the table. Go and get changed and come downstairs" my mother said with her sweet voice. I gave her a kiss on her cheek and went upstairs to get changed. After getting changed I came back down and walked into the dining room. I froze at who I saw there. I gritted my teeth and glared at the figure who was sitting at the table. "Why are you standing there Fai...come on....let's have dinner" my mom said dragging me to the table. "What is he doing here?" I asked with a cold tone. Atlas looked at me with a hurtful look but continued to smile at me which I ignored. "Don't be rude Faith...he is our guest...now come on let's eat" My dad said with a firm tone. I sat down but glared at Atlas. "So Atlas...how is our cutie Leo doing?" my mom asked with a wide smile causing me to freeze. 'our cute Leo?' I scoffed mentally. She talking to him as is the baby is her damn grandson. "He is doing fine Aunty...he really wanted to come here but it was late for him so he is with mom and dad" he answered with his deep voice. "Ahh and how is Kate and Dave...it's been a while since they haven't visited us since we moved" my mom said sadly. Atlas smiled "They miss you a lot and are planning to come over soon".  I sat there playing with my food while he talked with my parents. "Faith why are you not eating sweetheart" my mom asked with concern. "I'm not hungry mom" I said calmly. "Nonsense...I know how you are at work..... you hardly eat....so chop chop and start filling up that belly of yours" she said with her motherly voice and filled my plate with some pasta. I took a bite out of the pasta and the taste buds burst in my mouth. Oh how much I love my mother's cooking. While eating, I felt a gaze on me. Knowing where it was coming from, I ignored it and clenched my palm under the table. Couldn't he look away? f*****g bastard. "Faith" my mother called out after a few minutes of silence. I looked up at her "We wanted to talk to you about something" my dad said after clearing his throat. I put my fork down and leaned back giving them a nod to continue. They took a glance at Atlas and then looked back at me. "Faith you are now 27 years old and....Atlas is also a single parent and.......... I thought you and him-" I stood up causing my chair to screech making my parents flinch back. I gave them a blank look "I'm not hungry" I said coldly and started to walk away until my mom spoke. "You can't always ignore us when we talk about this. You and Atlas know each other since babies....no one understand him better than you also Leo loves you a lot, heck he even thinks you are his mother. You are 27 now and I want to see my daughter married and happy" she said with sadness leaking out of her voice. I turned around and gave my parents a cold look. "and you think you will see me happily married with the person who ruined my life" I hissed making my mother look away in guilt.  "Fai-" "SHUT UP!" I yelled cutting him off. "I am not talking to you, so don't you dare intervene" I pointed my finger at him who looked taken aback. "Faith stop this right now....you are becoming disrespectful day by day" my father scolded me. I scoffed and walked towards them. "I'm not being disrespectful dad, I'm just stating the truth and-" I looked at Atlas "I only give respect to those who deserve it, so stop convincing me to marry him" I spat at my parents in anger who looked at me with sad eyes. "But...Fai Leo he_" "What Leo?...I've never spent time with that kid, so its obvious who brainwashed him" I glared at Atlas. "Faith...I know what she did but her last wish was for you take care of him" my dad said making my blood boil. "Her last wish?...you actually think I give a f**k about her last wish?.....after ruining my life...she left the world leaving me behind with problems. She is probably enjoying her time up there after ruining everything and left her burden on me" I hissed. "FAITH!" Atlas yelled. I glared at him while he walked towards me. "Leo isn't a burden...he is my son" he said with a serious face. "Then if he is your son then keep him with you and find someone else to become his mother and stop pestering me" I spat and walked away ignoring his calls.  "f**k you Atlas Williams" I whispered in anger.
