  Deni   The door to the bathroom slams shut behind me. I lean on it breathing deep as my heart beats so fast, it feels like it’s about to jump right out of my chest. My body still tingles from lying so close to him – and the way he had touched me. I take another deep breath. I close my eyes willing my body to calm down. It takes a few minutes for me to feel like a normal person. I open my eyes, and I step close to the mirror. I stare at myself…at my wolf. I can’t believe he did that. My eyes turn blue as he rises. “Why?” I ask him. He’s ours, he says simply as if that is the ultimate answer. I groan because he will never understand. “You know if we accept him as our mate we lose the pack…” You don’t know that. He is ours, he says stubbornly. I am not saying that he’s not ours
