I sat down next to my mom facing her so I could look into her eyes. Alarick came shortly after me taking his place in the closest chair and I tried to prepare myself for whatever talk my mom had in mind. I tried to bolster myself, so that no matter what she told me, I promised myself I wouldn’t cry.
