I had patiently waited until after breakfast. I knew my mom would have a visit from her doctor early this morning but I knew she would not be there before breakfast. I wanted to ask her personally if we could go home, not to mention that Alarick had said that she was mom’s friend yesterday. I was excited to meet her. Right after breakfast I sneaked out of my room and walked to the department where my mom was roomed. They had kept her in the post traumatic department where they observed patients, especially those with head trauma, to ensure they were fully recovered before they discharged them from hospital. Having humans die out on the street was something normal for my community and no one lifted a finger about it but having anybody die in a hospital, would create a huge commotion. I
