Chapter 10
The next moment, the Station shuddered all around them for a heart-stopping minute. MREs rattled out of Eli’s arms and metal groaned somewhere above them. Solid panels met his hands before he even registered he was moving for the plethora of handholds bolted to the walls.
“What’s going on?” Jason’s head appeared in the compartment, body still half in the Rassvet tunnel to the escape pod. Nothing came to mind except the obvious answer.
“I think the Kibo finally gave up the ghost,” Eli answered. Another shudder ran through the space and then tapered off into a faint tremor that had been with them since the initial impact. His hands ached when he managed to talk his reluctant fingers into letting go of the wall. His crewmates weren’t in any better condition, all of them gray in
