Laurence came out of the bedroom and sat beside Serenity. He had to tell her the reality of their relationship. He placed his laptop on the small coffee table. “You didn’t answer my question, Serenity?” he asked, while starting his laptop. “What question?” she asked absentmindedly. “Why did you marry me instead of Alexander?” he asked, turning to take in her sad eyes. Laurence noticed the sadness on her face and sighed. “You can trust me,” he breathed. “Why did you marry me, Serenity? I need to know.” “Because Alexander already got married. He didn’t bother informing me. I saw him with his pregnant wife,” she confessed, as fresh tears fell from her eyes. “Are you sure? That man adores you, worships you. I don’t think he can survive a second without you, let alone marry someone else.
