Prologue

Moon Goddess's Point of View This story started long ago, more than eight-hundred years before a certain princess found out she had more than one mate on a historic night that changed the destiny of The Six Realms forever. It’s the story of my biggest mistakes, the times in which I took the greatest risks, but also the times in which I had my greatest loves. In those days, The Six Realms, the place where all the magic creatures inhabited, were relishing sheer peace. Wizards, werewolves, vampires, Fae, elves, and even demons lived in peace among each other. With peace comes abundance. Their lands flourished, bringing to life legendary princes and princesses, magnanimous heroes, and chivalrous knights. Seeing the beauty and plenitude that was arising in the realms, I decided to go down from Olympus, the home of the Gods, and go to share a glimpse of eternity with the creatures of the realms. Since the beginning of time, I have nourished a great love for all creatures, but as we all do, I had my favorites. I always looked at the Realms of magic with a heartfelt smile on my face. I was overjoyed with the possibility of being among them. I yielded my Godly powers for some time for the thrilling and exhilarating sensation of being vulnerable, being exposed to all the wonders and challenges being an equal to a creature of the Realms could expose me to. It was the very first time I actually felt alive. Immersed in the Realms, the creatures’ feelings, desires, and inclinations, I made the mistake of falling in love. Not once, but twice, and it was my demise. For the first time, I lived following only the rules of the heart, rules of desire. That was when I met King Augustus, the serene, powerful but gentle King of Wizards. The fates were still denying him his fated mate and, besides our passion for nature, he and I had in common our urge to love and be loved. This urge made us fall for each other. In a moment of distraction, the exchange of a single look flared a flame in our hearts and souls. Soon the flame became an uncontainable and all-consuming fire, which died down in ashes as fast as it started to burn. This love of fire produced two things: a child, a boy, and a very deep wound in the King's heart. My uncontrollable and mundane desire guided me to other paths, made me leave King Augustus and the fruit of our passion. This time, the ways of heart didn’t make me meet with fire, but the comfortable embrace of another male, another King, who felt constant and secure like earth. Our evergreen love flourished with the seasons. King Magnus, the Werewolf King, was my safe haven, my comfort, and peace. Even though I came from Olympus, which some would call paradise, I only found heaven in his arms. Once again, I was blessed with a child. But my treacherous heart was the one to be betrayed this time. Just as I left King Augustus, now my Werewolf King left me, without even looking back. No farewell for lost lovers, no warmth to dry my tears. My lack of divine powers prevented me from seeing that the Fates, like always, had their own plans. My beloved found his fated mate, the one who held the other part of his soul. His fated one was also soon with child. Thus, I left back to Olympus, taking with me the only relic of my love with Magnus in my womb. My Victoria, one of my greatest loves. And now I have to let go of her and let her pursue her own path, write her own destiny, by coming back to the place it all started, the Werewolf Realm. *** T. R.
