Martha's Secret.

1604 Words

Third-Person Narrative. Nala shuffled through the pages of the magazine, which she held in her hand. Struck with boredom, she'd hoped to find some excitement inside the pages of a wildlife magazine. In the end, the images just got more disgusting as she flipped past. Either that or her pregnancy was making her want to puke at every sight. Several moments were spent in the struggle until finally she sighed heavily and smacked the magazine shut. It felt like a good day to eat as much junk as her stomach could accommodate. But that was only a wishful thought. Nala looked around her vainly until her eyes landed on the bedside table. There lay a half-empty plate of food. At least Martha told her it was food. To her, it looked like a strange herbal paste picked right off the forest floor.
