FEDORA’S POV
Oh, my goddess Alpha Lorcan saw me and he is coming right this way.
I mentally cursed my luck and this whole situation.
On the other hand, I have to deal with this maniac and on the other hand the king of demons himself.
What did I do to deserve all this?
My plan was pretty simple, follow the map and get the hell out of there as soon as possible.
This crazy woman ruined everything and for what….this devil who is walking in our direction like a predator.
But the way he was eliminating the distance between us, my wolf was getting crazy in my head.
“Please not now,” I said to my wolf.
But she ignored me and continued to wag her tail and her pacing.
“What is going on here?” He asked as soon as he was at arm's length, which was pretty close to my liking.
This can’t be good.
My wolf tried to take control but luckily the bracelet and the charm were helping me to keep her at bay.
Before I could answer the woman beside me shifted in her true form, obviously naked and didn’t bother to hide herself and answered his question.
“It’s good that you are here Alpha Lorcan, I am glad we both caught this spy on time.” She answered pre-emptively.
He raised his brow in question, “A spy?”
“Yes, she is a spy from rogue territory.” She answered and I glared at both of them.
“I am not a spy.” I interrupted.
“I saw you, don’t lie.” She argued.
“Enough!” Alpha Lorcan’s roared which marked the end of our argument.
“You say she is a spy from the rogue territory?” He asked.
“Yes.” This crazy lady nodded eagerly and I rolled my eyes at her enthusiasm. Couldn’t she be more obvious?
But I admire Alpha Lorcan’s patience and his stoicism, he didn’t even look below her chin. His eyes were more focused on me.
“Do you have any evidence to prove that claim?”
“I..uh…I saw her heading directly towards the rogue territory as if she knew that someone was waiting for her.” She reasoned.
“Are you done with your nonsense?” I questioned but Alpha Lorcan stopped me.
“So you claim that she is a rogue spy but obviously she doesn’t smell like a rogue, then you say that she was heading towards rogue territory, that doesn’t prove that she is a spy. Now for the last time I am asking you…how can you be so sure and what proof do you have?” he asked calmly and I sighed in relief.
At least he has some common sense and is asking valid questions.
“I..um..I-“
He shut her up with just his single glare.
“You shifted into a wolf and tried to hurt another female during the hunt, that’s strike one. You are blaming someone else on my territory and that too without any proof, that’s strike two lastly you are wasting my time and let me tell you ma’am that my time is precious and that is obviously strike three.” After that, he snapped his fingers and two guards appeared as if they were waiting for his signal.
Maybe he already mind-linked them.
“Take her and make sure that she receives proper punishment for what she did.” Alpha Lorcan ordered and the guards complied without any question and I finally sighed in relief.
I don’t have much time left and I need to leave this place as soon as possible.
I can’t afford to get caught now, the moon is at its peak and that’s another reason my wolf is getting restless.
“Thank you, I should leave now,” I said and was about to leave when he stopped me.
“Wait.”
And I did stop when he ordered me.
“Um…yes?” I questioned and stepped away from him. Something about his proximity was making me sweat.
“Just because I didn’t believe her that doesn’t mean I trust you. She didn’t have anything to prove that you are not a spy but do you have anything to prove your innocence?” he questioned and I was dumbfounded for a moment.
Is she really asking me that question?
“Do I smell like a rogue to you?” I questioned and he shrugged.
“You don’t smell like anything even when the moon is at its peak and that’s saying something. So, you have anything to say about that?”
My bracelet…sh*t!
“I swear on my pack that I am innocent. You can check my id card but it’s back in my room, I am from Blue Moon pack and I am the eldest daughter of the Alpha.” I said confidently but he didn’t budge and continued to look at me intently.
He was wasting my time and I didn’t like that.
He stepped closer but I stepped back once again to avoid being touched by him or any male.
“What are you doing Alpha? You are not my mate, I can’t allow you to touch me,” I tried to reason and the look in his eyes shifted a bit.
“Fine…since you swore on your pack then I think I can let you go, but once this hunt is over I still need you to show me your id and someone from your pack who can identify you,” he said and I nodded.
That’s easy.
My brother is here and he can help me.
“Sure, now please may I leave?” I asked and he nodded and one of his guards chose that moment to interrupt him and he whispered something in his ear.
Alpha Lorcan once again looked at me with an accusatory look in his eyes and I frowned.
What is going on?
I thought I proved that I am innocent.
What the hell?
What did I do now?
“What’s your name?” He questioned.
“I…Fedora.” I answered.
“Ms. Fedora I need you to remove that bracelet and hand it to me.”
“Wh-what? But why? What’s wrong with my bracelet?” I hid my wrist behind my back and stepped away from them.
Who informed them about my bracelet?
“Our prisoner just informed us that you are using special means to win this hunt, so if you are innocent then I want you to remove that bracelet right now.” He said authoritatively.
I panicked at his command and to protect myself I accidentally broke my bracelet and that revealed a fraction of my original scent.
I knew what was coming next so without wasting any more seconds I shifted into my wolf and ran towards the exit of the maze.
I could feel two wolves following me so I increased my pace when I neared the exit.
I shifted as soon as I saw the golden ball and was about to ring it when a rough, strong hand stopped me and someone whispered in my ear.
“Mate.”
