Chapter 2

"All right, let's give it a shot," Maximo told his team after they finished setting up Project X. They put a cat inside Project X to see what would happen. Project X is a massive circular machine with a lot of moving parts. The computer displays and observes the movements of particles within it, which are scanned and then vanish within Project X. It was operated by the Maximo Team after that; they had to close their eyes because of the intense light emanating from Project X at the time. They were startled by the cat's scream. After less than thirty seconds, the bright light had vanished completely. They blinked their eyes open and looked around to see what had happened to the cat they had placed inside the massive machine. When they realized the cat had been burned, they all sighed. "Can you tell me what's wrong?" In his disappointment, Maximo inquired, not knowing what to do next. He was approached by one of his companions, who stated, "I believe something is wrong with the machine we built, Dr. Alves." "But," Maximo said to his companion, "we've already looked into it and checked on it!" Maximo said something in a high-pitched voice. "Perhaps there's something we missed, Dr. Alves," the man said his opinion.  "All right, we'll look into what's wrong with Project X!" he said, shaking his head.  " Make certain that you will be able to see all of the important parts of the entangled light beams!" Maximo shared his thoughts. Teleportation, also known as Quantum Teleportation, is the act of transporting an object from one location to another using quantum mechanics. Many science fiction films depict the concept of this, but there is no evidence to suggest that it actually exists in the real world. However, while there have been some studies into teleportation, the goal of the team Maximo is to transport humans from one location to another. According to some studies, they were aware that the object that would be teleported would be destroyed during the teleportation. However, they believe that through the use of science, Maximo and his team will be able to develop a teleportation device that will not destroy the object or person being transported. They all got to work inspecting the various components of Project X. They discovered what was wrong with Project X after many scanning hours, thanks to the use of computers and other machines that scanned the project. They quickly repaired the problem and attempted it again with a ping pong ball. Because of the intense light produced by the machine, they had to close their eyes once more. In their second trial, the ping pong ball vanished along with their machine, which they had passed in order to receive the Honor Prize Award. They used mice as test subjects in their third experiment. After a few minutes, they rushed over to Project X to find out what had happened to the mice and confirm their suspicions. When they didn't see the mice, they all widened their eyes in surprise. Because of the outcome of the third trial, they were skeptical that they had finally accomplished their goal! "The teleportation has been successfully completed!" Maximo let out a yell. He and his colleagues rejoiced as a result of the success of Project X. "However, we need to conduct one more trial to determine where they are going!" he exclaimed to his team. They were able to quickly secure a subject in the form of a dog. An individual from the team tattooed a name tag with a chip on the dog's collar. If the Teleportation business is booming again, they will be able to locate the dog by using the name tag with a chip on it. One of the members of his team was in charge of Project X when the dog was placed inside. It is the disappearance of the dog following the operation that makes them happy. "Now, locate the location of the dog!" Maximo gave the order. They looked for the dog using satellites and other devices, but no matter what they do, they are unable to locate it or track it down. "Did you manage to track it down?" Maximo had approached them with the question. To respond to his question, they all shook their heads. "Why? You have to track down the dog! In the event that you are unable to locate it, we will not declare Project X to be a complete success!" he stated. Doctor Alves wonders aloud, "What would happen if the chip were to be destroyed during the teleportation?" Dave approached him and asked him a question. "If the chip is destroyed, go outside and look!" This is critical for us to confirm that our Project is a success!" Maximo was the one who responded. "Yes, sir! Thank you very much!" "We'll track down the dog!" They said it with a firm tone in their voices. They looked at the dog from the entire Foundation building as well as from the outside of the Foundation. While they were occupied with the search for the dog, someone dialed Maximo's phone number through a voice-over. "Maximo Alves, please report to my office immediately!" As Maximo closed his eyelids, he exhaled a sigh of relief. "No matter what happens, you must find the dog!" While on their way to the President of the Foundation's Office, he said something to his team. On entering the office of the Foundation's President, he extended a warm greeting and bowed his head in respect. "Come in and take a seat, Maximo," the President ordered him to do. His steps brought him closer to the President, who sat directly in front of him. "Can I be of assistance to you, sir?" Maximo was the one who inquired. "I'd like to ask you a question about your Project, Maximo. Is there any new information?" The President responded by asking him a question. "The most recent trial that we conducted a while ago was successful, sir!" he exclaimed with delight. "Are you certain?" he inquired. "Yes, sir, however, the problem is that we don't know where the subject of the experiment is," he admitted in his honest response. "Can you explain what you mean by you can't find your subject?" the President inquired, his voice filled with confusion. "Our subject vanished after the operation, and I believe the tracker we attached to the subject was destroyed," he explained. As the President instructed, "You must go and find your subject, Maximo!" "Yes, sir, we will do so. Don't be concerned!" "You absolutely must, Maximo! "The agency has contacted me to say that they require Project X as soon as possible!" the President stated emphatically. "The Agency has been waiting for you for nearly ten years now, Maximo! Their funds were provided for the operation of the Foundation, and if we were unable to provide them with the Project, they would cease to provide us with funds!" the President explained further. Maximo smiled and nodded. "I see what you're saying, Sir!" Maximo directed his attention to him. "Maximo, get to work and finish Project X as soon as possible! We don't have time right now!" the President exclaimed in the last sentence he heard. Maximo walked to the President's office in order to leave and go to the laboratory. "Did you manage to track down the dog?" Maximo put the question to his team. In response to his question, they all gave him a dismissive shake of their heads. Maximo sighed, closed his eyes, and ran his fingers through his hair, clearly disappointed. "Whatever happens, keep track of the dog! Make use of all of the equipment, tracking devices, and, if necessary, take a look at things yourself!" All of the members of Maximo's team got to work on tracking down the dog. They must locate the dog in order to determine how far the Teleportation has traveled and to record the data as well as their observations.
