(Alexander) I woke up before Selene, her warmth curled against me. Her breathing was soft, her face peaceful—completely drained from last night. I hadn’t planned on keeping her up all night, but once I had her, I couldn’t stop. She came undone beneath me again and again, pleading for more, and I gave her everything she wanted—everything I needed. But now she needed rest. I brushed her hair back, pressing a kiss to her forehead before carefully sliding out of bed. She didn’t stir. Grabbing a pen, I scrawled a quick note. —Stay home today. Get some sleep.
