I was able to move into the dormitory without incident. After I'd moved my stuff in, I went to the grocery store and bought some supplies. I also bought a desk fan, since there was none in the room. I bought the cheapest one since I didn't want to spend too much. I don't have any incoming coming in, so I have to make sure that the money I saved will last me as long as possible.
The dorm has a shared kitchen, and the tenants can use it whenever we want. I don't think I'll be cooking full meals here, but I'd probably need the kitchen for hot water, among other things. There's also a refrigerator that we can use to store things that need to be refrigerated.
I also found out that the dormitory has free wi-fi for the residents to use. It's actually included in the rent.
