1 - Shiloh’s Move

    ‘Guess what!’ I cheerfully exclaimed through the mind link I share with Jax.

    ‘You painted me another masterpiece?’ he asked seconds later.

    ‘No,’ I replied with a little giggle.

    ‘You got another tattoo?’ he asked, knowing I was obsessed with them, and it was a normal thing for members of the Jungle Pack to start getting tattoos at an early age.

    ‘No, silly.  Try again,’ I responded with another giggle.

    After almost a minute of silence, I heard his voice come through the mind link, pleading, ‘‘I’m totally stumped, and I can't take it any longer.  You must tell me what it is, my love.’

    ‘I will be there in less than an hour, then you’ll have me all to yourself,’ I giddily informed my cute mate.

    ‘The first thing I’m gonna do when you get here is take you in my arms and kiss your luscious lips,’ Jax hummed through the link.

    ‘I am very much looking forward to it,’ I cheekily admitted.

    ‘I’m looking forward to seeing your gorgeous face every morning when I wake up,’ he continued to hum through the link, but it wasn’t just his voice I could hear.

    The sound of his cat purring also came through our mind link.  Loud and clear.  It was the most adorable thing ever.

    For the remainder of the ride, we talked about all the things we were looking forward to doing together.  Some of them were things we’d already done, and some of them were places on the Evergreen Pack’s mountain that we had yet to explore.

    I kept Jax updated on where we were at the whole time, so he knew when to head outside.  As we pulled up in front of the huge castle, Jax came running down the porch stairs, then he sprinted at full speed to our car, making it there before I had the chance to get my seatbelt off.

    After opening the door for me, Jax helped me out of the car and pulled me straight into his arms, then he dipped his head down, catching my lips for the sweetest kiss.  As he pulled his lips away, Jax affectionately murmured, “Welcome to your new home, my love.”

    I gazed into his unique dark green eyes that had a stunning light blue ring and happily chirped, “I love my new home,” while running my fingers through his silky, blonde hair.

    “It tickles my heart to hear you say that,” Jax mumbled, as he nuzzled his nose against mine, creating those sparks that made my skin tingle in the most delightful way.

    There was no need for a tour of the castle, since I had spent a lot of time there over the years, so we headed straight to the royal chambers.  My parents followed, then both of our parents sat us down right away to go over the ground rules.

    Their number one rule had always been that we weren’t allowed to mate with or mark each other until we were both eighteen.  In addition to that, I was not allowed to leave the mountain, or cross the border.  

    I would be under the care of Jax’s parents, who were the King and Queen of Werebears, and I was to show them respect at all times and do as they say.  Throughout the years, I had always gotten along well with Jax’s family, so I wasn’t worried about having any problems.

    Once they were done schooling us on the rules, my dad helped Jax take my belongings to his bedroom.  Surprisingly, they didn’t forbid us from sharing a bedroom, but we had proven time and again that we would be responsible and follow their rules.

    After they were done, my father gave me a tight hug, then my mum joined in, making it a group hug.  I always missed my parents when we were apart, but I missed Jax more when I wasn’t near him, so it made sense to live with Jax.

    When they pulled away, my mum cupped my cheeks, then she blinked her eyes, forcing the tears to drop, as she lovingly mumbled, “I am going to miss you so much!  Be sure to mind link me often, so I know you’re doing okay.  Also, don’t hesitate to let me know if there is anything you need!”   

    “I love you, mum.  Don’t worry too much.  I’ll mind link with you at least every other day!” I assured her.

    “You better,” she pouted before giving me another warm hug.  This time, when she pulled away from the hug, my mum grabbed my dad’s hand and choked out, “We should get going.”

    “Yes, we should,” he calmly replied, while pulling her against his side, then he whispered into her ear, “It’s okay, sweetheart.  Shiloh will be well taken care of here.”

    “I know,” she whispered with a forced smile.

    After telling me bye one last time, my parents headed their car.  I, on the other hand, grabbed Jax’s hand and asked, “You’re gonna help me unpack, right?”

    “You don’t even have to ask,” he immediately responded.

    It didn’t take us long to unpack everything, since there was already a dresser for my clothes and plenty of room in the walk-in closet.  I liked to keep things tidy, so I made it a point not to accumulate a lot of unnecessary stuff.  

    I kept my wardrobe small and didn’t own a ridiculous number of shoes.  However, I had an abundance of art supplies, but I used all of it on a regular basis.  

    Jax knew how much I loved to paint and draw, so he had his parents get a sketching table for me.  It took up an entire corner of the bedroom, but Jax didn’t mind in the least.

    Once everything was put away, I walked over to the king size bed and fell backward on top of it.  Jax followed me over, then he stood between my legs and bent over, placing his palms on top of the dark green blanket covering the mattress.

    Jax searched my eyes for a few seconds, then he breathed out, “If you were right here in front of my eyes, I wouldn’t believe you actually live here now.  I’m so glad we don’t have to wait another full year.”

    I lifted my hand and rubbed the pad of my thumb over his plump lower lip while murmuring, “This is the best birthday present ever!”

    A little chuckle left Jax before he pecked a kiss on my lips, then he kept his lips hovering over mine and asked, “What would you like to do now?”

    Without hesitation, I grabbed the back of his head and answered, “Kiss you some more,” then I pulled him back down, making our lips come together for a more passionate kiss.
