CHAP 16

The coldness was sipping through my skin when I woke up. The surroundings were quiet; I didn't even sense any movement. Slowly, I opened my eyes and saw a white ceiling in front of me. Why am I here at the clinic? I groaned when I felt pain all over my body. Trembling, numb. It was like I was beaten by ten people. Well, I'm just exaggerating, only about three. Two? Ah, whatever! My attention went to the door when a human entered. I was immediately stunned when Seniorito met my eyes. My memories gradually returned as to why I was lying here in the clinic. Wait, let me rephrase. Awoo awoo, not human. I want to slap my forehead because my craziness is kicking in at this time. I heard a sigh from him that got my attention again. He slowly walked toward my seat. "Just rest," he said when I was about to get up. I feel like a fool with my elbow propped up while my body is slightly raised. In the end, I just dropped myself back on the bed and averted my eyes from him. I don't know why, but I feel electrified by his gaze—again. I couldn't take it; it seemed to absorb me into another dimension. "How are you feeling?" He was seriously curious. I snorted before turning to look at him. "Did you bring me here?" I asked again instead of answering him. "Obviously," he replied simply, as if I were stupid to ask that question. "Why didn't you call me?" he added. I arched an eyebrow because I had no idea what he was asking. Does he want us to be callmates? He's an A+, huh? He doesn't want to just text; he really wants to call. Well, with my beautiful voice, who wouldn't want to hear me all the time? Tsk. "You should have contacted me or Miro. You shouldn't follow commands from others, especially if doing so could hurt you." His jaw slightly tightened at the last word. I didn't say anything and just kept looking at him. He still had this cold demeanor on his face, yet I could feel the warmth in his voice. I'm going crazy. "I'll probably follow that. What if she bites me on the neck when I disobey her? I'll be dead and will even feel injustice." I rolled my eyes. He massaged his temples and shook his head gently. I even noticed his deep breathing, which seemed frustrating and annoying. I just don't know if it's for me. Well, to me, of course. He has no one else to talk to here at the clinic. Well, it matters if he sees a ghost. Wait... don't they say that animals can really see the soul? I suddenly felt cold and adjusted the comforter wrapped around me. My eyes wandered slightly around every corner of the clinic. "What are you doing?" Seniorito asked when I made the sign of the cross and prayed the Hail Mary. I glared at him and mouthed, "Ssshh..." Then continued praying. He touched his temples even more, which I ignored. When I finished what I was doing, I looked at him again. He was sitting in front of me, lazily looking. My attention was only taken away from him when the door opened again and Miro spat out. I frowned when I saw him topless while his chest was bandaged. There are still red spots there. "You're awake," he said and winced slightly as he walked in. "What happened to you?" I couldn't help but ask. I'm not concerned, just nosy. He didn't seem to hear anything and just walked straight to the other bed on my side. He lay there as if you thought he was weak. It looks like he has a deep wound in his chest. Poor puppy. "Have you got everything ready?" Cleon asked in a baritone voice. Miro frowned. "Damn. I'm just going to lie down," he complained before taking a breath. "Everything is ready. They are waiting on the ground," he continued as he slowly got up. What's is it? He looked at me. At least for a moment, I saw the worry in his eyes before it disappeared. He shook his head before standing up and walking out of the clinic. "Can you walk?" Cleon caught my attention when he spoke. I checked myself first before nodding. My body still hurts, but I know I can bear it. I wasn't literally injured, but my physical body was really disrupted. I slowly rose, thinking we were going home. I straightened myself for a moment before standing up. I couldn't stop myself from shrieking when I was raised from the floor and Seniorito carried me up. I could feel my heart beating fast as I felt his warm palm on my back. "S-Sir . . ." I stammered. "I can walk." He didn't listen to me and just started walking away from the clinic. I didn't do anything but hold his neck and sink into his chest to hide my face from other students that we could pass. Later, it will make me look flirtatious again. He just walked while carrying me. I don't know where we are in school anymore. The only thing I noticed was the deafening silence around me, which made me wonder. In the television shows I've watched, when the campus crush has a woman like this, they almost turn into bees whispering, contrary to what is happening now in reality. Maybe they are all home? I just shrugged it off and stayed hidden in Seniorito's chest. I bit my bottom lip when I inhaled his sweet smell. It's addictive. Cleon stopped walking. I thought we were in front of the car, but I was startled by a sharp hum around me. I pulled my face away slightly to get a peek at what it was. My eyes widened and my jaw dropped when I saw the students below. We are now on top of a building. Seniorito was carrying me up while there was a microphone placed on a stand in front of him. Sh*t! I do not know what to do. Should I hide my face again or stand up and leave in front of them all? Either one, I will destroy both. Fvckingshit. What is Seniorito doing? Will he drop me off for his pack to eat? What am I? A sacrifice, is it? I feel like I'm going to throw up from being nervous. I don't know how Seniorito remained standing properly despite my body being frisky in his arms. "S-Seniorito... what is this? You can't get anything from me. I don't have too much flesh; I'm not even bloody. Your pack will not be satisfied," I said and laughed a little hesitantly. He ignored me. He just kept his eyes on the front, on his people. It seems that with his eyes, he is conveying something to them. "I will only say this once; everyone who does not comply will be punished," he began. I stared at Cleon. I can feel his authority and power. His voice and stare alone will make the knees of anyone he talks to soften. "Anyone who lays a finger on the woman I am holding now will end up dead in my own hands." He had a clear threat in his tone. "This is my order—" His jaw set. "—the Alpha's command."
