"Do you want to hold him?" I asked my mum as she put a hand over her mouth with tears streaming down her face. Eyes never leaving the small baby that was unaware of the world around him.
"He's sleeping, let's let him be." My mum whispered stroking his cheek softly to feel his soft skin under her touch.
"That's okay. Here." I moved over and picked him up slowly. Making sure his bare body was still covered up so he didn't get cold. I needed to go back and get some clothing as well as other things since he will be staying with me. He needed a proper place to sleep since he had taken over my bed which I wanted back. The couch was causing knots to form up and down my spine and I couldn't stand another night on it.
Feeling him stir and placing him in my mothers arms for her to hold her grandson for the first time. Her eyes lighting up as she scanned over his little features that resembled me. Running her hand over his head to smooth out his brown colored hair she began to rock him.
"Harry he is beautiful." She whispered as my father came up behind her and gave a small smile at the baby that was still sleeping in my mothers arms.
"I told you things would work out." Gemma whispered to me with a smile as she tilted her head to rest on my shoulder while crossing her arms over her chest looking at my parents.
"Thanks Gem." I whispered back in reply watching my mum smile at the tiny sleeping infant in her arms.
Once I had put Asher back on the bed we all exited and found ourselves in the living room discussing what was going to happen next. We had a lot to talk over and plan with a baby being part of my life now.
"First of all, if he's going to be staying here with you he needs the proper equipment and clothing. He also is going to need a doctors check up to make sure he is healthy. Oh and it would make me feel better if you got a paternity test done, I know you don't want to but it's better safe than sorry." My mum started in as I sat on the rug in front of the three that were on the couch.
"I was wondering if you or Gem could come shopping with me, I don't have a clue as to what he needs." I confessed thinking back to the struggle in Target the first time Louis and I were there.
"We can go tomorrow and get everything you need. We want to make sure that this baby is well taken care of, I will not allow my grandchild to be raised without the proper equipment and clothing." My mum went on making me feel better that I was getting help when it came to the shopping aspect. The only issue I was running into was money, I wasn't exactly rich and it was sounding like I was about to drop more money then I had.
"I say we start with the shopping tomorrow and paternity test s***h doctors check up after." Gemma agreed nodding to what my mum was saying.
"I can schedule you one with a great doctor I know! She is wonderful with kids and will take care of the check up and any testing that needs to be done." I nodded in agreement letting my mum take on some of the tasks I had in making this all work.
Once the night had come to midnight and my muscles ached for sleep my parents and Gemma left me to my sleep. Asher was still asleep in the bedroom but I didn't see that lasting long since he was eating about every 2 to 3 hours.
Slugging my body onto the couch my eyes instantly fell shut as I grasped onto any sleep I could get in this time span. I knew I would be up in about an hour or so, so I planned on getting some sleep before getting up with Asher.

"That is the cutest thing I have ever seen!" Gemma gushed running over into the baby clothes and gathering clothes as if she were hibernating for the winter. Throwing all types of clothing items into the large red shopping cart.
"Gem! I'm not daddy Warbucks! You've managed to fill almost this entire cart with just clothes!" I told Gemma who shrugged and parted her lips to justify herself.
"Don't worry about it, mum is buying! I say get what you can while we are shopping with her." Gemma raised a brow as she turned her gaze to my mother who was picking out blankets and bedding for the crib her and Gemma had decided on. It was small enough to fit into Liam and I's bedroom which was all I needed it to do.
Pushing the cart with Asher sitting in his car seat he began to kick with restlessness. I had washed his outfit he had come in so he at least had something to wear in the meantime. It was getting colder out and these clothes Gemma had picked out were definitely essential. Touching his belly and rubbing it I tried to soothe him before he became more upset.
"It's alright buddy. Look! Look what I've got!" I picked up his white passie that had fallen to his right side. Pushing it into his mouth he began to suck on it as I held it for him pushing the cart to wherever Gemma went.
Taking my hand away from holding his passie to his mouth he spit it out and began to kick again from me lacking in holding his passie for him.
"Oh I see how this works." I picked up the passie once again and pushed it into his mouth lightly as he grasped onto it. "You want me to hold it for you."
"Oh my god Gemma look at this!" My mum called Gemma over as they looked at the little baby things. I was becoming bored quickly and Asher was growing impatient sitting in his car seat. We had been shopping for a good two hours and my feet were aching from standing and walking around occasionally to switch isles.
My mum had bought the entire Target with any baby item you could think of. She tended to get carried away at times and this was one of them but, I didn't mind seeing as the bill so far was going to ring up to about two thousand. From a crib to a baby bath I felt like I had it all.
"Those are so stinking cute!" Gemma gushed over the little booties they had found. "He needs these!"
"What he needs is a diaper change, really guys I think we ran Target out of their inventory!" I sighed seeing Asher spit out his passie once again and begin to start in on a restless state.
"Alright, Alright! Let's go check out shall we?" My mum dropped the boots into the cart and came over to see Asher who wasn't pleased with sitting in a dirty diaper. "Do you need your diaper changed?" My mum asked reaching in to unbuckle Asher.
Taking him into her arms she rocked him while we walked up to the check stand. Pushing the cart through that was over flowing with boxes and all types of packaging Gemma took Asher from my mum to go change him in the girls bathroom.
"This is a ton of stuff." I said hauling a bathing chair box onto the loading belt along with a few other boxes.
"Well it's what you are going to need if you are going to raise this baby. I want to make sure you are prepared for this little boy." My mum assured throwing clothes into the belt effortlessly. I couldn't believe the amount of clothing she had picked out between her and Gemma.
"New mom?" The cashier asked ringing up all the items we had put down the moving belt. She had dark curly hair that framed her beautiful dark face. Her lashes running for miles as she rang up the total to one thousand dollars.
"No, No!" My mother laughed handing her a little plastic card for the cashier to swipe. "New daddy."
"Oh really? Well congratulations!" The attractive cashier beamed moving her dark brown eyes over to me. Her mocha colored skin glowing as I looked at her under the store lights.
"Thank you!" I smiled nodding just as Gemma made her return with Asher propped up in her arms. Sucking his passie while playing with a necklace clasped around her neck she sighed out.
"You owe me for that one!" She spoke as I laid eyes on the baby who was busily pulling at Gemma's necklace.
"I told you both he needed a diaper change but you were too busy calling things cute and fawning over baby clothes." I arched a brow at Gemma who went to defend herself.
"I'm sorry I want YOUR baby to be warm and properly dressed now that it's getting cold out. I think what you should be saying is, thank you Gemma you're such a good sister." Gemma told me as we walked away from the check stand and I waved to the beautiful cashier that I had found extremely attractive.
"That wasn't even that bad compared to tomorrow." My mum chimed in as she pushed one of the two carts we had full of all kinds of baby things.
"What is tomorrow?" I asked following behind her with Gemma to my right side holding Asher.
"I made you an appointment for you and Asher to get a paternity test taken as well as Asher's check up to make sure he is healthy and up to date on his shots." My mum answered coming to her car and popping the SUV trunk that was more than spacious.
"They are going to give him shots?" I looked over at Asher just as Gemma moved me aside to buckle him into his car seat and taking it to the back seat of the car.
"If he's not up to date, and something tells me he's not."
"Why do you say that?" I asked my mum as I hauled the different bags into the trunk of the car.
"Harry the mother left him on your doorstep, I doubt she had him in for regular shots and checkups."' My mum's eyebrow arched as she played Tetris with the bags and boxes.
I wasn't looking forward to tomorrow and especially since there would be shots involved most likely. The paternity test also made me a bit nervous, what was I to do if he wasn't my baby? I couldn't leave him, yet he wasn't my responsibility. There wasn't much doubt in my mind that the test would come back negative but anything was possible.
note// so depending on if I get enough comments I might do a double update today! And can I just say that I love Gemma? XD
