Finally, the day was over. It felt odd heading off without Johnny. For weeks, he has driven her to and from school. Now, due to her mother banning them from seeing each other neither should have been an option. However, Kimberli knew her mother expected her to ride the bus home, which alone gave her some free time before having to return home; being how she was one of the first to be picked up and the last to be dropped off.
