~CALLIE'S P.O.V~
I hear a crunch behind me, and Jade's eyes look as if they would pop right out of her skull. I quickly turned around to see what she was looking at. There he was the man who haunts my dreams nearly every night. I thought he was dead... The Alpha said the threat was eliminated. That was all I could think about. I couldn't scream. I couldn't move. I was frozen in place looking into the black eyes of a murderer. My parents, murderers to be exact. I prayed for this, to meet him again, but only for revenge. I wasn't nearly prepared for a fight yet. I thought I would have more time. I wanted him dead more than I wanted air to breathe. I knew inside he wasn't dead. How did he trick our Alpha?
He walked out from the shadows to where I could see his pitch-black eyes that blended in with the night sky. Without my wolf's enhanced vision, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I took a deep breath and gulped. My throat was dry. I could feel my anger rise just by looking at his face. His smell was the same, only less noticeable as if he masked it.
'Let me kill him.' Emery said in my head.
'He is too powerful.' I replied back.
'Callie, WE ARE POWERFUL. We can and WILL kill him!'
My internal conversation was cut short by his husky voice.
"Hello my queen, I'm back. Miss me?"
A shiver ran down my body. But not in a good way. I felt the urge to barf the contents in my stomach.
"I am not, nor will I ever be your queen. You disgust me!" I screamed at him.
He only smiled and laughed a low chuckle.
"It has taken me nearly 3 years to build up an army and get allies with witches to come and retrieve you. You can go the easy way or the hard way."
My head went back to 2 and a half years ago to all the bodies lying on the ground. My anger rose, but I knew I wouldn't risk any more deaths on account of myself.
'Em, I can't allow him to kill innocents because of me.'
'Because of us, we are one. But I know...' She replies with a mixture of defeat and anger.
I am thinking about my next move. I know I can't win a fight with him. I haven't had the chance to train with my wolf to have better fighting skills. I took a deep breath, turned to look behind me at the pack house, and then turned back to him.
"If I leave with you there will be no deaths. Not a single person in my pack is harmed!" I screamed with a defeated tone.
"I can't promise that." He stated with a mischievous grin plastered across his face.
I let out a growl, allowing Emery to come forth. I could feel my claws coming out and my eyes glossed over, informing me Emery had taken the front row and put me in the back.
"I will kill you and everyone who dares to harm MY PACK!" She screamed.
" That is what I was waiting for. I knew it the moment I met you as a child, you were the one."
At that moment, I heard howls all over and I turned to look back to be attacked by a needle being stuck into my neck. I instantly felt dizzy and was beginning to go in and out of consciousness when I heard in the distance:
"She isn't knocked out yet, that easily takes out a wolf bigger than her!"
"Well, give her another dose! HURRY, they're coming!"
I felt another stick in my neck as I felt my body go completely limp. I could just barely hear in the distance.
"PUT HER DOWN!"
Dad? Is that you... I began to think. Everything around me was spinning, and soon I fell into a deep slumber.

~GUNNER'S P.O.V~
The airplane landed and I jumped out of my seat grabbing my bag.
"Sir, please sit back down until the plane has come to a complete stop." I heard the flight attendant say. I let out a low growl, making her step back with wide eyes. I shouldn't have done that; she is only a human and just doing her job. I sit back down but my heart is racing, and my feet won't sit still. I have been sitting for far too long. I have become even more restless than before. What the hell is wrong with me? Why hasn't Timber calmed down yet?
'Mate, I feel her. She is hurting!' He screamed in my head. I sighed again at his statement.
'Tim, we don't have a mate. Our mate died. There is no other.' He growled at my response, and I just shook my head. He could be such a hard-headed ass sometimes. It’s that Alpha gene in him, nobody can tell him otherwise. It's honestly irritating. I hope I am not like that to those around me.
The plane came to a complete stop, and I jumped up again. This time Laken is right behind me.
"Bro, are you good?" He says.
"No. Timber hasn't stopped pacing and growling at everything and everyone."
"Yeah, I saw you growl at that lady, smooth move my dude." He says sarcastically, earning him a growl from not only Timber but also from me.
"I am still your Alpha, and you shall treat me as such," I spoke with authority.
"Damn dude, you must really be on edge. I'm sorry." My Beta says with his hands raised in submission.
I normally don't pull the Alpha card on him, but today was just not the day.
We exited the plane and walked through the airport. Several human females were eyeing us. Even the ones with men. It’s not uncommon, we always get stares anywhere we go. But today I didn't feel like engaging with these people. That's when a short blonde girl starts to walk over. Her top was so low that her breasts were nearly falling out of her shirt. Laken is smiling and his eyes have diverted to her breasts as he eyes her trashy outfit as usual. If we had time, I would let him take her to the restroom. But that's clearly not happening.
'Don't even think about it.' I mind-linked to Laken so the girl couldn't hear. His smile had shifted into a frown, and I could see disappointment all over his face.
'Take away all my fun, sour patch kid.' He replies back as I shake my head and take a deep breath to try and calm Timber and myself down, so I don't lose my s**t on him in front of an airport full of humans.
"Hello, gentlemen. I happened to notice from across the room that neither of you had any rings. Would you like to grab a drink with me and my friends in the bar?" She says flirty while looking back at a group of girls staring intently over at us.
I am in no mood for being flirty.
"No." Was all that came out of my mouth. Her smile faded and she turned to look at Laken.
"How about you, handsome? We could possibly go to a hotel afterward and have a little fun." She stated with a wink.
Was this girl so desperate that she would offer herself to two complete strangers? What is wrong with these girls nowadays? Laken's smile hadn't returned as he also had to shoot down the tempting offer before him.
"I'm sorry dear. We are in a bit of a rush. How about this, I'll give you my snap chat name and we can link up in the near future?" Laken says with his smile reappearing. They exchanged their info, and we parted ways from the floozy.
"Dude, I am SO TAPPING THAT!" Laken says with an excited tone. When I don't answer, he continues speaking.
"I'm going to bend that round ass over across a table, spread her ass cheeks apart. Then I am going to finger f**k her, putting two in the folds of her wet core and one inside her asshole, you know 'two in the pink, one in the stink'. All the while, I use my other hand to massage her clit to prep her for this d**k, she isn't going to know what to do when I stick it in and f**k her so hard. Her human body will be bruised, and she is going to be so sore and addicted she will be begging for more."
"That was more information than I cared to know." I spat at him.
"Bro, you know wolves aren't like normal humans. I bet she has never had it the way I can give it to her."
"Like you've compared," I said, actually laughing.
"Actually, I have. I've watched human porn. They say the men in the porn industry have the biggest schlongs. I could be a porn star and show up all those other d***s!"
"Don't think your mate would appreciate that much," I said back to his idiotic comment.
"Well, I haven't found her yet, so I don't think it will matter much."
I shook my head in disapproval. But that is just how Laken is. Maybe when he meets his mate all this sleeping around will change.
We walked out of the airport walking to the black SUV I ordered before we boarded the plane which was waiting for us outside. We take our seats in the back and the driver heads to our hometown.
30 minutes into the drive and I was getting more impatient.
I mind-linked Laken since the driver is human and didn't need to hear what I was about to say. He'd truly be confused.
'I could have run and been there faster than this driver!'
Laken begins to laugh internally.
'Bro, he drives slower than my grandma!'
I know he is only trying to calm me down by cracking jokes and it seems to ease me up a bit, but I am still extremely restless. As we got near the pack’s territory, I felt even more uneasy. I look around and everything seems to be normal, but something isn't right. The driver stops the SUV to let us know we have arrived. I got out of the SUV quickly and asked Laken to tip him as I headed to the pack house doors. Nobody was outside and that seemed strange to me. I walked indoors and I heard a faint cry coming from upstairs. Laken is now on high alert.
"That's Jade." He says as we head towards the stairs. I was not about to take the elevator and slow us down again.
We took the stairs two at a time. Landing on the 3rd floor in no time, which is the Beta and his family's floor. Nobody seemed to be there. We walked down the hall when I smelled the most amazing smell coming from behind a closed door. I opened the door to an empty room.
'MATE!' Timber screams.
'No, no mate. just an empty room that smells good. Calm down, Tim.' I said.
"Laken, nobody is here, let's go upstairs."
We head to the stairs and go up one more flight of stairs to the 4th floor, which houses the Alpha and his family. I hear the cries as they become louder. We make our way to the sound, and I open the door without knocking. I'll be ringed for that later, but right now, I don't care.
"Jade, calm down." I heard my dad, Alpha James, say.
Nobody was expecting us to arrive home tonight. So, when we entered the room, everyone was in total shock. That's when all eyes fell on me and Laken.
"Gunner, Laken, what are you doing here so early?" My father said,
Laken steps forward, looking at his sister's puffy red eyes.
"What is going on?" He says.
His sister, Jade, turns and runs to him and is screaming "Laken, she is gone. He took her."
"Who is gone, and who took her?" I ask as my heart rate begins to rise.
"The Rogue. He took my Callie."
Callie. Callie. My head kept thinking. Where do I know that name from?
"Is Callie your mate?" Laken asked her and I heard Timber growl lowly in my head at his question.
"No, my best friend, you remember her, right? I couldn't protect her. He took her. They just vanished like they were never there!" She screamed.
"Was anyone else harmed or kidnaped?" I asked, trying to assess the situation at hand.
"No. Just Callie." Beta Makon, Laken's dad, finally spoke up with a cracked voice.
"I remember her. Why would a rogue be brave enough to step into our territory to just take one female? A 16-year-old female at that?" Laken said.
My father arose from his desk and motioned for us to come and have a seat.
"It's time we talked." That was all he said.
