Chase's POV
I listen as my father finishes up his phone conversation with yet another Alpha of the North addressing his concerns about the upcoming summit. It's not that none of them want to go, it's simply that there has been an increase in vampiric and rogue activity along the northern border and with us being the closest defense against the Vampire Kingdom, most despise leaving their packs for a day, let alone a weekend. I would share their concerns if the task of protecting our Pack were solely mine. Though it is a position that I am preparing for, I have yet to attain it nor have I settled into the fact that I won't just be responsible for our Pack, but the entire Northern hemisphere. And with all of this unrest, I am temporarily grateful that my dad is still the Alpha Major here. H
