Chapter Five: Moving In and Shopping

Elina's POV

Finally I have brought all the things up to the empty apartment with the help of Elijah and Noah. They were really polite and helpful which is amazing though Dominique and I only have suitcases along with a few boxes. The rooms were bigger than we were used to back home and I'm truly grateful.

After we finished, I offered them refreshments since it's the least I could do. When they left, I looked around the spacious living room then went to the garbage bag that has the sheets and comforters. I took out a plain light purple sheet with a black, white and purple comforter then went to my bedroom and spread the bed. When I finished, I spread the bed in the other room with floral pink sheets that I knew Dominique would like.

When I finished doing that, I organized everything and started unpacking putting our clothes in the closets in the bedrooms. Dominique set her toys aside in her new room and put her shoes in pairs then I placed them in the corner of the closet.

Soon after I was finished with both bedrooms, I wiped down the kitchen and arrange the living room to my liking then everything seemed perfect. I laid down on the couch with my little marshmallow and she sat on my lower abdomen playing with her purple dolphin stuffed toy Kaleb won her yesterday.

"Mommy, this is pwetty" She said showing me the toy

"Yes baby it is. You know now that mommy has a new work, you can go to school soon" I said to her.

"Will you come?" She asked

"No. But you will make nice friends and learn new things. When school is finish, I will pick you up and take you back with me" I said pinching her chubby cheeks. She giggled.

"I read books too" She said to me

"Yes baby. Now mommy is going to the store to get groceries so I can make us some food" I said to her

"I come?" She asked

"Of course baby, you really think I'll leave you alone for the rat king to come eat you up?" I asked playfully then tickled her. She burst into fits of giggles making me laugh.

"Mommy not nice" She said pouting as I seize my hands.

"Mommy is so sorry Princess" I said to her

"Okay, I forgive you mommy" She said smiling.

"Okay baby, put your shoes on and let's go" I said to her.

We got up and put our shoes on then I grabbed the keys to the apartment leaving. I took the elevator down to the bottom floor and used the door to the side to exit since that way it was easier. I walked down the street holding Dominique's hand the crossed the road going to the bus stop. Soon I saw a taxi and waved it down then got in.

While the car drove by the tall buildings, Dominique stared out the window in awe. When we got in town, I paid the driver then got out walking a short distance then I saw a mini mall with a huge Walmart sign and made my way towards it.

I got inside and grabbed a car then made my way to the meat section. I took out chicken, bacon, sausages, beef and a bag with some frozen nuggets. After that I went to the snacks aisle then juice and everything else. When we got to the cash register, Dominique took up a small pack of m&m and I paid for it.

After we were through I took all three bags carrying them out with Dominique holding onto my pants pocket. As I was about to walk out the parking lot, I heard my name being called. When I turned around, I saw Kaleb jogging towards me with a smile on his face. I stepped to the side placing the bags on the concrete.

"Hey, you need help with those?" He asked me adjusting his shirt.

"It's just three bags and what are you even going here?" I asked amused. He chuckled then sighed.

"I came with my little sister to get some stuff for her birthday party. She's turning 17 this coming Friday" He said to me

"Oh that's amazing. Anyway I am gonna head back now to make some dinner before Dominique starts whining. I'll call you later alright" I said to smiling

"No, I'll drop you off and it's no problem at all. May I help?" He asked. I chewed on my inside cheek then nodded.

"Okay but please don't break the eggs" I said to him. He chuckled talking up the two biggest bags and made his way to his car with me and my marshmallow following behind.

There was a younger girl in the front seat on her phone and when she turned around, she smiled then waved to me. I waved back then got in the backseat sitting Dominique close to me then Kaleb closed the door. When he got in the driver's seat, he started the car then reversed out the parking lot the turned onto the street.

"Alright so Elina this is my little sister Kamara and Kam, this is Elina and her daughter Dominique. They just moved into the city" Kaleb said

"Oh, you're so beautiful. Is your hair real?" Kamara asked smiling. I laughed and nodded.

"Yes it is and thank you very much. You are beautiful yourself" I said to her

"I know. Compliments to my parents and you're welcome. So, where did you move from?" She asked me.

"Maryland" I said to her. She gave me a confused look "It's a good 72 hours drive away from here" I added then she nodded.

"Okay, well since you're new here then that means you don't know much people besides my brother right?" She asked me

"You can say that" I said to her

"Huh, well I can introduce you to some people and maybe if you're single, we could find you a boyfriend or girlfriend if you are into girls" She said smiling. I looked at Kaleb and he was so focused in the road. I myself doesn't even know why I looked at him.

"I'm not looking for a relationship and I'm not big on having friend groups either but thank you" I said smiling. She sighed loudly.

"Okay I guess" She said to me

After that the car went quiet. We rode in silence to the library and as soon as the car stopped, Kaleb got out opening the door for me. I smiled thanking him then grabbed two bags then he took the other on and decided to follow me to the apartment. Dominique took the keys from my pocket and I opened the door setting the bags down.

"Thank you for the ride and for helping me bringing the bags up" I said to him. He nodded with a smile on his face.

"Anytime. I'm gonna head home and if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me" He said to me

"Yes, I will keep that in mind." I said laughing a little

"Alright, I see you tomorrow then" He said to me

"See you tomorrow" I said then he gave me a smile walking to the elevator. I closed the door locking it after that then sighed.

"Mommy, I help you put away food please" Dominique said

"Yes baby, let's do that" I said to her.

We walked to the kitchen as I brought all three bags setting them down on the counter. Dominique opened the fridge while I took the stuff out the bags. I moved towards the fridge and she handed me the items then I packed them.

For dinner, I decided to make spaghetti and meatballs with cheese sauce. Dominique loves cheese and chocolate so I made it possible to squeeze in each in our meal each day. While I made dinner, Dominique looked for her pajamas to change into later for bed. Out of nowhere my thoughts got occupied with the black wolf with gray blue eyes from my dreams. God, I might be going crazy because wolf doesn't talk and I'm not sure werewolves are real... Or are they?
