Chapter 18: Idol

**Alex**

I am happy.

Finally! Amyra was at my packhouse.

Almost everyone knew about our family expect a few new people.

I'm sure she seeks answers for all that happening around.

I will spend half a day showing her every part of our pack.

She was excited.

And I know exactly one right place to show her.

I wanted her to visit this place.

We had lunch and left to visit that place with Mother and Amy's father.

This place is between Aaron's blue moon pack and our pack.

It took around 45 minutes to reach the place.

When we came to a huge area the place is free of trees and in the center stands a big old stoned architecture, the whole place is surrounded by forest.

"Where are we?" Amyra asks looking excited.

Taking her hand I say "You will see".

**Aaron**

I am at the pack meeting in our office. The security head and his subordinates, Josh, Dad, and our powerful warriors, and our patrolling team were present in the meeting along with seniors like Master Isaiah and a few others.

Our security head is explaining how we were fooled by insiders about rogues and how we failed in stopping them.

My blood was boiling with frustration.

But partly it was my fault, I shouldn't have left Jenny and rogues back there.

I should have ripped their throats.

"Stop complaining and start acting" I screamed thudding my fists on the table almost startling everyone.

"Alpha Aaron, we are sorry for this cause..." security head quivers with apologetic eyes.

I glanced at Dad, he narrowed his eyes and glared back.

I was growing impatient every moment, though we had killed the rogues who had trespassed our territory now, I was still feeling anxious.

"Josh, what about Jenny...Jennifer?" I asked giving him a stern look.

"Alpha, she is been missing...we tried to catch her, but we lost her," he says not meeting my eyes.

"Is this your excuse?" I ask raising my voice and rising from my seat.

All others start to rise from the seat, I signal them to sit.

"I want a detailed report on this, no excuses will be considered," I say eyeing everyone as I strode out of office.

I wanted to shift and disappear in the woods but I felt hands lying on my shoulder, I turned to see Dad.

He had a concerned look on his face.

"Dad, I want to go on rounds," I said not meeting his eyes.

"What's bothering you son?" he asks, forcing me to meet his gaze by holding one side of my cheek with his hand.

I had an unsettling feeling in my heart was it because of rogues or because of Amyra, I don't know.

Amyra...My heart trembles at the thought of never seeing her again.

Never holding her in my arms.

No, this can't happen.

She can't leave me.

"Aaron..." Dad shakes my shoulder bringing me back from my thoughts.

"I am fine Dad just..." I trailed off not finding the words.

"Everything will be fine," he says patting on my back before leaving.

I unbuttoned my shirt and trouser and hang it to the twig of a tree within seconds I'm on my four and ran towards the woods inhaling the scent of nature and earth.

I feel relaxed in the woods, my mind was calm but not my heart, the uneasy feeling persists.

I howl louder looking at the moon which is slowly rising.

I need my mate.

I need her.

I run again, this time faster jumping the logs and rocks.

I don't slow down on the obstacles, I make my way through the large rock walls and make a stop on the biggest rock.

From here I felt the moon is near.

I howled again "AAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOO" and praying internally and asking the moon goddess how long I need to wait for her?

After some time, I return to the place where I had left my clothes.

I wore my clothes and checked my phone, I had 2 notifications of missed calls from Alex.

I dial him back, he picks after 5 rings.

"Hey, Alex, WhatsUp man?".

"Amy is with me, she is fine. I convinced her to come with me to my pack", he says.

Instantly I felt so relieved, the uneasy feeling finally vanishing listening about Amyra.

"She is angry with you dude. Tomorrow her friends are coming to visit her, she is going to hang out with them. I will message you the place and time" he says without waiting for my response.

Oh God, this chap is my fave...Alex had become my buddy, I never could share my thoughts and how I feel for his sister, but he could understand without me telling.

I was so lucky to have him.

After listening to everything he said, I thanked him.

**Amyra**

I loved this place, it is very calm. I can only hear the birds singing.

This place keeps my heart at peace.

And the smell of the earth is breathtaking.

An old stone monumental architecture stands in the center of the huge ground.

The place is mesmerizing with all different colors of flowers around the place.

As we entered the stone monument a large statue of a lady stood, she was beautiful and benevolent. She had wings and was holding a golden diadem and torch on either side of her hands.

"Who is this beautiful lady?" I asked Alex.

I felt a strong force of energy as I touched the idol. I removed my hand immediately.

"She is moon goddess, Selene," he says.

I was mesmerized by her beauty, I stood there for a long time looking at the idol. I could see the moon from where I stood as there was a glass top above the idol, where direct moonlight could enter.

Moon was not full, but it seemed like it was looking at me and smiling.

The monument was filled with beautiful sculptures depicting the story of the moon goddess.

"This is the place you both took birth. Your mother and father came to visit the moon goddess but she started having labor pain instantly, we couldn't head back, so I had to deliver her here, this place in front of the goddess. She prayed goddess to save you from those ghosts honey, but..." says Alex's mom cupping my cheeks in her hands, I and Alex share a curious glance at each other.
