If Gloria had not been so worried about what lay ahead of her, she would have enjoyed the voyage a great deal. It was impossible not to be thrilled about being aboard such a grand British Battleship. Beside, everybody was doing their best to amuse her. She found that the Marquis and Marchioness of Garth were charming and the Marquis was particularly interesting to talk to. She also liked the British Ambassador and his wife, although they were getting old and were rather grumpy.
