A Chance

"Mori O'hara!"
A shout echoed at the four corners of the dining room. It was cold and full of anger, as if that shout alone is capable of doing a m******e. Mori was awaken from her reverie and a hand made its way on her neck. She was forcibly pushed, her back leaning against the chair.
"You are not allowed to think of something else in my presence, I thought you're already aware of that!" The man growled and the grip tightened.
Mori's mouth opened instinctively, having the urge to gasp for air, however, the vise like grip on her neck is unyielding. The nails dug onto her flesh and felt her lungs burn. She tilted her head to try to free herself from him, her hands reaching for the ones strangling her neck— she's suffocating! Suddenly, she started seeing dark spots across her eyes, aside from that, all she can see is that crazed look on that man's face. It terrified her. Her arms go limp as pure terror stream from her eyes.
She cried in pure terror and panic, and as she was just about to faint the pressure from her neck subsided.
"Don't ever do that again. Do you understand?"
She drew a deep breath to calm herself down, but the man's impatience is something she can't compete with.
"Do you understand?!"
Mori weakly nodded, "Y-yes..."
The man got back on his seat and a hand touched her shoulder, patting it lightly. Mori steady her breathing. She knew that Anna is worried about her but the maid can't do anything since it will be the end of her life if she did even a very small mistake. Mori clenched her fist under the table, it was shaking— both anger and fear making her tremble, but it was only brief and fleeting as if the emotion did not exist at all.
"I'm sorry, " she started, "It's just that I was thinking if you are free today."
She wanted to test him. Not the patience, but if he will fulfill any of her wishes. She needed to do something this time to create an opportunity, that is the only way she can get a chance to escape or to plan everything, step by step.
The man sipped from his wine and elegantly put it down without a single noise. He lifted his eyes, his controlling gaze boring unto her.
"Why?"
"I've been here for too long. I was wondering if you would let me... go out to shop." The last words came small but still audible.
She calmly looked at the man's face and he raised his eyebrow at her.
"Then you'll find a chance to escape? In your eyes, am I a fool?" He mocked.
"What I mean is that you will go to accompany me, of course. I wouldn't dare escape, I don't want to be punished again." Her voice was calm and steady like she doesn't care being expose at all.
"I will think about it. Go to your room."
When she stood up and he can no longer see her face, Mori's eyes deepened. She headed outside the dining room and Anna silently followed behind. They headed at the pink door at the end of the corridor. It was her room. It's just that she doesn't like it at all.
"I'll get you something to eat. You did not manage to eat anything at all." Anna said.
She nodded at her before sitting down the fluffy bed. She just hopes that the man would let her go out. To be able to give a clue or sign at the outside then she needed to leave this hellhole. Others may not recognize her but the cameras will. She is sure that Sebastian will do anything to find her, even using face recognition just to get an info on her whereabouts.
Her hand reached for her abdomen and she gently caressed it. A beautiful smile form on her lips, the very first one since she came here.
"Don't worry, baby. We'll get out of here soon then you'll finally hear daddy's voice." She whispered.

The next day, Mori woke up with a pale face. She had another nightmare and she doesn't like the feeling of it. It was like she's experiencing things again. That it was all real and the smell of blood and medicines making her sick and queasy. She closed her eyes and breathe heavily, calming the hard beating of her heart.
When a knock sounded at the door and Anna came inside carrying a large box, Mori finally sat up. She watched the maid clear the coffee table to put the box before opening it, revealing a long white dress.
She raised her eyebrow. Did he bought another dress so I would forget about leaving this house? It is clear to see that the dress is newly bought.
"Miss, sir said that you change into this then you'll leave after lunch."
Her heart skip a beat. "W-what?"
"He agreed to accompany you outside," Anna revealed a small smile, "Here, I told him the wrong size so the dress is not too fit."
"Thank you."
She's almost five weeks pregnant now but she still wants to use loose dresses. Though the baby bump is not yet obvious, playing the cards right from the beginning will lead her to less mistakes. It is better to change the size now than do it later.
After waiting for hours, she only ate a little during lunch due to excitement. This is the first time she's gonna step foot outside and observing the surroundings throughout the journey is a must. First, she needs to know how far the house from the city so if she decided to escape later on then she won't be lost. Followed by a number of bodyguards, she entered the card and was greeted by the smiling man.
He looked up her up and down before nodding satisfyingly.
"As I thought, the dress looks good on you. It just seems a bit big."
Mori stared back at him. Though the man is smiling nicely there is still a crazed look in his eyes. His temperament is really different from her husband. Sebastian might be cold and stiff outside but there is always a gentleness in his eyes reserved only for her. Knowing that the man might sense something again, Mori immediately averted her eyes in the cover of straightening the crease on her dress.
Finally, the car moved. It sped outside with a stable speed and she watched as the stretch of green and brown from the outside turned into cements, then the car turned left and it didn't take long before other cars showed up. It means they are already on the highway. She knows this part, it's near the heart of the city.
Her heart skipped a beat. The place where she is locked up is not too far from the city center. It only took them thirty minutes from reaching the highway. Mori smiled inwardly but there's still a lingering doubt in her heart.
She frowned. Why would he let her see the way? And he even agreed to her request without any fear that she'll try to run away.
Mori looked back at him. His attention is glued to the laptop, there is also a man talking from the other side. She can't hear what they're talking about because of the Bluetooth ear device but it seems that the talk is very serious so she didn't dare disturb lest he get mad at her.
"Raise the price. If we win the bidding then we'll have a good foundation in this country." She heard him saying.
"No, but make sure the other side knows who they were competing with."
"I'll make sure we meet soon. It's no fun if that doesn't happen."
Mori only listened while her eyes widened at the mall where they are heading to. It was the biggest mall in the country and she knows too well who owned that prestigious mall. Now, she was full of anticipation and was hoping that she bumps into Sebastian while walking.
"Send a female assassin on Andersen. The prettiest, let's see if he doesn't let his guard down."
Hearing those words, Mori's attention was caught but she remained natural, not showing any changes in her emotion as if she heard nothing.
"Mori, wear this."
