Unable to hear her response, Zack anxiously asked, “Elena, are you all right?”
“Yeah, it is nothing.” Elena sucked in a deep breath. “I’m just asking.”
“Really?” He was still worried.
“Really,” she replied.
After a brief chat with Zack, she hung up.
She went straight back to her dorm, she was thankful that Selene and Winnie weren’t there.
She looked down at the chocolate box in her hand. She had actually brought it back, she threw it in the trash can without thinking twice.
Just as it hit the bottom of the can with a loud thud her phone rang.
Looking at the two words “Charles Luke” on the screen, she stiffened. She just let the phone ring but then decided to answer it so she could hear his explanation.
