Simon looked at Elena strangely. She sat there looking indifferently but he could see the sarcasm. No matter how much he planned, she was always able to surprise him. Even though, he was severely germophobic, when he saw her messily painted face he still thought that she was inexplicably beautiful. "Okay, you won." Simon raised his lips again. "But sweetheart, I seem to be loving you more and more. I think I will never let you go now!" Elena's pursed her lips to keep herself from saying anything more. In the face of Simon’s repeated threats, compromise would not work to solve the problem. From her experiences with Simon, she believed it would only encourage him more. If she really wanted to save the servants’ lives, she had to convince Simon that she did not care about them at all.
