Prologue: She's here with me

There's only a certain limit the heart, mind, and body can take before it all comes crashing down, but we all need it, just like birds we all need to be......FREED♥. I watch as she's lying there barely alive in the blue hospital gown. I recheck the machine. Her heart rate and oxygen level are normal. She is still alive. I want her to get out of this alive. "Scissors please." My hands are shaking as I hand the doctor the scissors... I'm scared, what if she doesn't make it? "Focus!" He says which startles me and I pass him the pair of scissors. He is an expert at this but I can't miss the rings of sweat on his forehead. It's not easy. I just want her to fight this. I know the risks that come with brain surgery and I'm praying so hard, fingers crossed that she gets out of this alive and that nothing changes. "Nurse please take his position, man I'm gonna need you to stay aside till we're done." He says which snaps me out of my thoughts. "No, I'm good." "Sheldon, please." A look at his facial and I put down the tools in my hand and take a seat away from them. He did me a favor by having me come into the operating room disguised as a nurse. I wouldn't want to risk his job further and in as much as I want to watch every step, he is the neurosurgeon here and I trust him to do his best. I sit on the chair my head in my arms as I try to compose myself. Just then the machine starts beeping, in a split second I'm on my feet and I watch as her heart rate becomes weak. "More oxygen nurse." The doctor shouts as the nurse moves to the machine. "What's going on?" None of them is talking. Then she starts shaking vigorously, she's having a cardiac arrest, I'm confused I don't know what to do and the nurse keeps running to and fro. She's dying and they aren't doing anything. Why do they look confused? I don't know what I'm thinking but I push the doctor away and start performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on her, my hands are shaking. It's not working. I feel a hand hold me on the shoulder with a slow squeeze. No. "She's gone." He says as he pulls me away from her body but I don't bulge. "No, she's not. She can't be." I feel tears form in my eyes. "Hey...hey, you're not going anywhere., stay with me," I whisper to her lifeless body as I move my hands on her cheek, it's still warm. "I know she's still alive, please do something." When he sees how devastated I am he shakes his head, pushes me aside and takes the cardiac defibrillator, and places it on her chest. "Okay one, two, three" I watch as her chest rises and falls. He does it the second time, with the same result. When he does it for the third time, the machine beeps and her heart rate resumes to normal. I take in a deep sigh of breath. She is alive, I feel like screaming and at the same time, I feel like hugging the doctor, maybe kiss him. I move close to her and take her hand. I smile when I see her stomach move at the breaths she is taking in. She's here with me. My Olive. ######
