"I'm sorry, Ma. But I searched everywhere, and I didn't see Miranda. She's not in her room or around the mansion either," reported the maid, with her head bent low.
"Where could she be? Did she leave the house this morning? Are her boxes still in her room?" Lady Loretta asked, becoming worried as she knew Miranda had been behaving strangely recently.
"Yes, Ma. Miranda's bag is still in her room, but she's not there," Susan said, and Lady Loretta sighed.
