Eilean a’Chaisteil sat on a hill with the entire base of the castle taking up all its space. A singular dirt trail that led up to the majestic faerie fortress looked more like a small eroded cavity in the hillside and quite contrary to the building it led up to, fitting into the natural environment well. Albeit the castle, though majestic and beautiful, was more the anomaly in the breathtaking grasslands of the territory. The castle’s small portcullis was opened and unguarded, and inside the walls, the white and grey cobblestoned bailey was also found unoccupied. The eerie vacancy gave off a sense of abandonment as well as an ominous, unwelcome feeling. Crossing the quiet courtyard, Aron watched every corner, every leering window.
