Narrator In the reception, the people didn’t realise anything strange. They didn’t suspect anything. They laughed, danced and had lots of fun. Everyone was having a good time. All the workers were busy at the reception. They were busy catering the needs of the invitees When it was time to leave, their friends and family went on their way. Only Zak and Hanna were left. Zak's uncles would be staying at the main mansion of the family for the night. And then they will leave. The workers who worked at the mansion would clean up the place when everyone went home. It had been a tiring night for all the workers. So Zak wanted to give them three days off, on the occasion of his marriage and because they did a great job catering and decorating their wedding. The workers were happy that they get to spent more time with their families. They started to clean the garden so that they could go home sooner. Zak and Hanna went back towards their mansion. Zak held his wife close to him. His hand on her waist, holding her in his firm hold. He has got her. She is his now. Hanna was anxious and excited. Finally that night has arrived. The night she had saved herself for. She actually had succeeded. Her heart beat faster and faster as they got closer to their home. She kept breathing deeply, hoping to calm her racing heart. Her palms were sweaty. She knew it would hurt her the first time, but she was more than ready now. Zak looked at his wife. He could see that she was nervous. “Nervous?” he asked with a smirk pasted on his face. That caught Hanna by surprise. He looked her husband’s face. His mischievous expression made her blush bright red. She looked away, trying not to smile. He laughed and hugged her. “Don’t worry my love. I won’t hurt you. Ever.” He said as he inhaled her hair and trailed kisses down her face and down her neck towards her collarbone. She felt shivers down her spine and goose bumps on her skin. She gulped as she held on to his torso. She didn’t want to make out in front of all the workers. “Zak, we are still outside.” Hanna, managed to whisper. She too enjoyed the scent of his cologne. But she refrained herself from loosing control. “You want to get inside?” he asked with the same expression still on his face. She tried to hide the smile on her face, with no success. She was shy. Why did Zak have to make her feel like this? She thought. She covered her face with her hands and groaned. “Zak. Stop” she said. “You are making me blush.” “I think you are cute when you blush.” He replied. He then carried her bridal style to their home. Her eyes were constantly on his facial features. She was sure she loved him. She smiled. She had made the right decision. Zak carried Hanna towards the door which was slightly open. He entered the front door. Their room was upstairs so he walked towards the stairs holding her tightly in his arms. As he entered, he noticed something on the floor. Something that looked like a fluid that was spilled on the floor. That is weird. He thought. The dimly lit hall made it difficult for him to see what exactly it was. So he put Hanna down to check it out. He lit the light and turned towards the spill. His eyes grew wide. Blood! This looks like blood. By now Hanna too, had noticed the huge pool of blood right in front of her. They hurried towards it to find out where it was coming from. The stream of blood led them under the staircase. They followed the stream of blood carefully, trying their best not to step on it. And then they saw it. There beside the window that was open, lie two dead bodies, mutilated and soaked in blood. Their guts were outside their bodies. Hanna gasped at the gruesome sight. She maybe a nurse, but she had never seen a body so ruthlessly murdered. She involuntarily took a step towards the dead bodies. Who were they? Zak held her hand just in time and shook his head. For one thing, he knew that it was not safe for anyone to go near the dead. He quickly called the police. And reported a murder in his house, on his wedding night. Meanwhile, Hanna was wondering who they were. There we two dead bodies. Suddenly she remembered that her parents had come in to the house earlier. She felt a huge lump in her throat. With wide eyes she grabbed her husband’s arm. “Where are my parents?” she asked urgently. Zak was speechless for a moment. No it cannot be them. I shouldn’t be them. “Maybe they are sleeping now. Why don’t you check their room?” He asked hopefully. Perhaps they are already asleep. Hanna lifted the skirt of her wedding dress and hastened towards the stairs, careful not to step on the blood. Zak followed her. He too was anxious. Their hearts were beating like crazy. They practically ran towards the room their parents were supposed to be in as soon as they reached the top of the stairs. Silently praying, that they were inside. Silently hoping that the door was locked. Hanna took a deep breath before she put a trembling hand on the door handle. She took a deep breath and tried to open. It was locked. She breathed out a breath of relief. Perhaps they were inside. Zak knocked on the door. There was no response. “Mom, dad?” Hanna called hopefully. Still nothing. Her heart, once again raced. She banged on the door. She wanted to make sure they were fine. She wanted to be sure that they were safe. Nothing. Not even the slightest of sounds. She got really worried. Her parents were not heavy sleepers. Even if they were asleep they must have woken up by now. Hanna looked at Zak, worried, tears collecting in her eyes. Zak took out the master key and opened the lock. When they pushed the door open, it was empty. No one was inside. Hanna’s tears were now falling with no control. She sobbed as she held on Zak’s hand. “Zak....I’m scared.” She said. They could hear the police siren in the distance. “Hanna.....” He didn’t know how to console her. “Let’s go. The police is here.” He said. The newly weds hurried downstairs just as the police entered their mansion. They investigated the crime scene and ordered that no one can leave the mansion before they had finished. Zak held on to his wife as she sobbed. They watched the mutilated bodies being taken away. They were going to do DNA testing to confirm. They were so badly mutilated that they were unrecognisable. Hanna didn’t want to believe that the bodies could belong to her parents, but she didn’t miss the clothes they were wearing. Although it was soaked in blood, she noticed that the flowery pattern on the dead woman’s dress matched with those of her mother’s. Zak pov. This is unacceptable. I can’t believe this. Who would do such a thing? Who would want to take their lives away? How could they even have enemies? They seem like the sweetest people in the while world. Hanna has been crying non stop ever since. She has not said it. But I know that she fears that the DNA would confirm that it was her parents. So many questions are still unanswered. My heart bleeds for her. This innocent girl is going through too much. I hugged her as she continued to sob in my arms. The police walked around the mansion. All the workers who were in the mansion were now here. They were being questioned and fingerprints were taken. I have already given them the access to the CCTV recordings. Let’s hope for the best. Just then an inspector came towards me. “Mr.Zak Miller? Can you tell me, do you have any enemies or work rivals. It is possible that they were not the real target, but you were. Since this has happened in your home. That person could have come for you. But they were in the wrong place.” I tried to think. Rivals? There are business rivals but not like this. I don’t think I have any enemies either. I sighed. “I honestly don’t think I do, inspector.” I said. “How about you, Mrs. Hanna, do you have any enemies?” he asked, looking at my wife who was crying non stop. She sniffled as she looked at the inspector. Then her eyes grew wide. “I am being stalked for a while now. Once I almost got r***d. Zak managed to save me.” She said. The inspector nodded. And took more information on that matter. “We will inform you as soon as we have any information.” He said as he turned around to go. “Inspector,” Hanna called. “have you received the results of DNA?” “Yes, it matches with the DNA of your parents.” He said and left us speechless.
