I Just Want You

Gideon's POV I stood in front of my full-length mirror, putting the finishing touches on my best Armani suit. It was black with a white silk button-up shirt under the jacket. I had on my finest Rolex watch and golden cuff links in the sleeves of the suit. I had slicked back my black hair with gel, and my face was cleanly shaved. Tonight is the big night. The night my mate and luna turns eighteen, and she will finally know I am her mate. She will finally learn to whom she belongs. Her red-haired beauty flashed through my mind, and Achilles murmured happily. He, too, was eager for his mate to finally be able to acknowledge him. Achilles had already contacted her wolf, Tarja, and he was excited to claim her finally. I couldn't help but picture her on her knees, taking my swollen member into her mouth and sucking me dry. I could not wait to see her body swollen with my heir. My thoughts were interrupted by a light knock on my open door. My younger brother Theodore strolled in wearing a light grey suit. "Looking sharp, little brother," I told him, and he nodded with a slight smile. "Thank you." He stepped towards me and fixed the collar of my shirt. He always fussed with other people's clothes. I took in a deep breath. "How do I look?" "Sharp as always, Gideon." He replied. "I can't wait for Temperance to walk into the room and for her to realize that we are meant to be together forever. She will finally know she is mine." Theodore took a deep breath and looked me in the eyes. "She is going to hate being put on the spot like that, Gid." I laughed. "She plays in a band. Being on the spot is what she does, Teddy." My brother shook his head. "This is different, bro. You think you know Temperance, but you don't." I pushed him back with a growl. "I love her, Theodore." He stepped away from me. "You love your image of her. But you don't love her for her." "You are just jealous, Theodore. You have been hanging out with her for years, and now you are jealous because she belongs to me." Theodore shook his head. "Gideon, you know I am not into girls." He breathed out. I know my brother is gay. My parents don't know. It's a secret between brothers. "She is just my friend, that's all." I patted his arm. "Sorry, bro." "I'm just trying to caution you about Temperance, Gideon. She is going to hate tonight. I know it." I rolled my eyes, "Your concern is noted." "It's your funeral." He said before walking out of my room. 'Tarja is excited,' Achilles interjected. 'Temperance will come around. I know it.' I told my wolf. Looking down at my watch, I realized it was almost time. Finishing my preening, I walked out of my room and headed down the stairs. I met up with my beta Justin on the way down. "Looking sharp, bro," He said to me. "Thanks." I patted his back and looked at him dressed in dark pants and a blue shirt. That was what Justin called dressed up. "You look nice too." He smiled. I reached the ground floor, and my parents were waiting for me. My beautiful mother stepped towards me wearing a lovely light blue evening gown. Her light brown hair was in a fancy bun, and she was wearing lots of jewels. My father stood next to her wearing an all-black suit which made him seem sinister coupled with his black hair and black eyes. He smiled. "Gideon, my boy. You look ready." He clasped my arms. "Thank Dad. I am ready. I cannot wait for her to realize I am her mate, and everything will fall into place." I looked at my mother. "Thank you for putting this party together." My mother kissed my cheek and smoothed my jacket. "It was my pleasure, Gideon. Though I had help from Madison and Kelly," She mentions the beta and gamma females. "I shall thank them both too." My father clapped his hands. "Shall we go greet our pack? Paul told me Temperance is about ready. He and Madison will be bringing her shortly." I nodded. "Lead the way, Alpha." I smiled at him. I may be taking over in just days, but I would always see my father as the Alpha. There was no one I respected more than him. My mother linked arms with him, and they lead the way into the ballroom. Our packhouse was big enough to have its own ballroom. A place where we held parties and weddings and other pack events. My mother and her friends had done a marvelous job decorating the ballroom with so many fresh flowers and balloons. A huge banner where the stage sat read "Happy Birthday, Luna Temperance." A hired orchestra was playing a nice piece as we entered. The room immediately quieted as the alpha family walked towards the stage. The orchestra came to a rest as my father stood in front of the microphone. I stood beside my father as my mother stood on the other side. I looked out at my pack and saw Temperance's brother and my gamma, Hayden standing in a nice suit. He smiled at me, and I nodded back to him. I nodded at everyone as I scanned the room. "Good Evening, Erie Lake pack. It has been my greatest honor to have served as your Alpha these last twenty-three years. Together we have built one of the strongest packs in the United States. In a few short days, my reign as Alpha will end," He said as there were some sad murmurs from the pack. He then put a hand on my shoulder. "Don't be sad. For my eldest son, Gideon shall take my place, and I am confident he will take this pack places I couldn't imagine." There were applause and cheers, then my father held up his hand, and everyone quieted. "Tonight, we will welcome our next Luna, who will become official a few weeks from now on the full moon." He smiled at me. "It is about time for her to arrive, so I ask all of you to allow my son Gideon to welcome her in the center of the room. The pack spread out and formed a large circle around the room, leaving the center for me. I stepped off the stage, and my mother handed me a large bouquet of roses and a velvet necklace box. It contained a very expensive necklace I had picked out for Temperance. My father leaned down. "Paul told me they just arrived out front." I felt butterflies as Achilles became restless in my head. He whined and paced. 'Easy Buddy.' I reassured him. I stood in the center of the room as the main doors opened. She walked in, flanked by her parents. A vision in pink. I couldn't believe how beautiful she looked tonight. The dress hugged her toned body, and her red hair was tamed by a lovely braid that flowed down her shoulder. She looked at me with her emerald-like green eyes wide. She knew. I knew she knew. She seemed hesitant to approach and had to be pushed by Gamma Paul. "Let her go, Gamma, "I ordered, and I stepped towards her as Achilles howled, 'MATE!' in my head. I held the gifts out to her. "Happy Birthday Mate!" She just stared at me. I turned and faced the pack. "Your next luna, Erie Lake. Temperance Abbott." I heard gasps from my pack and looked where Temperance had been standing, only to see she was gone. I sighed with annoyance.  "I'll be right back everyone." I announced and then ran out of the room following her scent of lavender.
