When Ben let me know that the girl was standing outside my club in line with the others, I just had to see it for myself, and there she was. I saw the little lovers quarrel between her and John the night before, but didn’t think much of it.
It is the first time he arrived with a girl on his arm twice… Not that I’m complaining. This gives me alone time with this girl everyone is talking about.

“Why are you here alone? Surely he wouldn’t let you alone for a second!”
Christa “We fought last night, and he locked me out.”
I say, waving my one hand in the air.
Cat “Ah. Tell me, and I know this is very personal, but… Are you financially dependent on him?”
I know all of them to work for the police, but I want to see her reaction. I want to see how honest she will be.
