"Mason I can walk!" Danica insisted as they arrived at the training grounds, where a few warriors were still roaming about. "Put me down!"
"No, you're hurt," Mason said.
"It is fine," Danica insisted, even though a pang of pain shot through her trying to make her out to be a liar.
"Just give up," Mason said, heading towards the infirmary.
Once inside, Mason sat Danica down on a sick bed and disappeared to go find the healer, leaving Danica alone. Looking around, she couldn't help but let out a shiver. Although she had been trying to act tough around Mason, she was exhausted, she was hurting, and she was severely freaked out by what the dark being within her had done.
