My eyes shifted between Jake and Davina. If there was ever a time that I needed us to be mind-linked was now. Because we have not marked one another, that would prove to be impossible. I kept looking at him when no one was paying attention, but he wasn’t getting it. I didn’t have long before Davina would make the first move. That simply could not happen.
