Chapter 10 Jessica I stretched beneath my blankets, ecstatic that for the first time since her birth, Cassie had slept through the night. Cracking open an eyelid brought reality into sharp focus, making my smile fade. Sunlight broke over Boston’s skyline outside the window I faced, bathing me in warmth. The previous night came back in a rush as I blinked the buildings into focus, and I sat up, clutching the sheet to my chest. No Reid. The other side of the bed hadn’t even been slept in.
