The Third Breed

Prologue

Year 2XXX

A group of scientist discover a mass grave of primate within the melting glaciers on one of the highest mountain within the northern part of the Himalayas.

News reports stated it to be the so called “missing link” as the cadaver showed feature more evolve than the most recent found hominids.

Scientist are both excited and ecstatic with the new discovery, as the bodies showed traits quite the same with the current human, showing a very distinct ancestry.

One year later.

An unknown sickness spreads through out the world, the symptoms start with a high fever associated with sudden vomiting, headache, muscle pain and sometimes fainting, but was not considered a threat as there have been no cases of fatality within the populace.

The said sickness has spread all over the globe, having infected about eighty five percent of the population. Experts have managed to trace the cause of the pandemic as a unique virus causing a massive change within ones body.

Six months pass

By this time the strain of the microorganism have already developed and adapted to the current environment. Thus giving out much more severe symptoms and spreading faster, as it has mutated into an airborne organism.

An infected person would now show signs of severe insomnia, schizophrenia and worst, instant death. Casualty were estimated to be around one fourth of the population as countries began going on quarantine to try to control the disease.

After three more months

A new type of manifestation occurs. A few minutes after death, the diseased comes back to life. Reanimated individuals show extreme aggression, lack of rationality, an insatiable hunger for human flesh, increase in strength, stamina and the inability to feel pain.

Economy and society begin to collapse, countries were unable to contain the disease as the world is thrown into utter chaos.

The people literally called it the zombie apocalypse as infected people began spreading across cities, transmitting the disease as a bite was lethal. Two thirds of the remaining population succumb to the sickness as governments opted to isolate and hide the remaining population in order to survive the dreaded pandemic.

And two centuries later….
