"CHASE the werewolves!" "Plague!" "They must be killed!" "Burn them!" Shouting filled the small village that was located in the mountains. The men carry spears and torches to illuminate the deep night to find the werewolf. In the small hut owned by Gido, the leader of the tribe, is where his youngest daughter, Ashera, who has a love for the Alawin Forest, being scolded. Alawin forest is said to be the home of werewolves where no one dares to enter because the werewolves will feast on its flesh. That is why the forest is also considered forbidden for the mortals because it is very dangerous. "How many times do I need to tell you, Ashera, that you shouldn't go to that forest?!" Ashera's father scolded her. "But, father... I've visited Alawin many times to pick some delectable fruits but here I am and I'm still alive!" Ashera reasoned out. "Just listen to us, Ashera. This is for you too. Your sister, Zelda, listened to us and look at her now, she is safe and still alive." "But father! Zelda and I are different, she has no interest in nature. We are different so please, stop comparing us." she softly pleaded to her father. "Ah. Just listen to me!" Despite the reminders and exhortations, the stubborn child could not bear it. The next day she went to the forbidden forest again to pick flowers and fruits, she just really love nature. Concealed from the knowledge of the naughty maiden, there is a pair of fierce eyes staring at her, watching every move she does in the forest, listening to her when she sings and most of all, protecting her against anything that could harm her. The fierce Gamma Amaru owns that pair of fierce grey-eyes, and that makes Ashera different from others who dared to enter the forbidden forest, she has her protector that's why she's still safe. The innocent face of the maiden, her fairy-like beauty, and her soft and sweet voice every time she sang captivated the heart of the grey-eyed Gamma. When he finished guarding the girl he liked to watch, Amaru returned to the secret part of the forest where the whole pact of werewolves lived. Gamma Amaru is a fierce and brave general of the pact. He is known for all his achievements as a werewolf, he won all the wars he had joined. A lot of women in their pact dreamed of becoming his mate but he doesn't seem interested, it is because his heart is already owned by someone else, unfortunately, it unexpectedly belonged to someone who shouldn't see him because she might be afraid of him. "Where have you been, Amaru? I've been looking for you for a while. I thought you and Xerxes were together!" Sierra furiously asked him. Sierra is his mother, she is a normal werewolf, an Omega, a servant. "Hush, Aunt Sierra. Let your son go and multiply." Xerxes, Amaru's best friend jokingly said. Amaru's eyebrows furrowed, he doesn't know what his best friend is talking about. His mother glared at him and he was clueless, "You're already in love? Who is she? Tell me, so we can formally ask her and her family to make her as your mate, it's about time for you to build your own family." Amaru just scratch her head and did not care about what his mother is talking about. He knew that Sierra is very excited for him to start his own family but he's not interested in making one especially with a woman she doesn't like. "Or maybe that's a mortal. Hey, Amaru! May I remind you that falling in love with a mortal is a great sin, it's against our rules. Mortals are made to be our food and nothing else!" his mother said to him strictly. "If that's a mortal, just tell me, and I will be the one who'll capture her to make her our supper, understand?" His mother poked his head before leaving. Amaru could do nothing but sigh and continue sharpening his sword. They live like human beings, the only difference is that they turned into fierce wolves whenever they want to, but the best time to shift is during full moon for it'll make them feel stronger compared to usual times. "Dude!" His foolish friend, Xerxes, tapped his shoulder. He glared at his friend, "Never joke something like that again in front of my mother, Xerxes!" Instead of being frightened by his authoritative voice, Xerxes just laughed at him. They have been friends for a long time. They've been friends since Amaru's father was still the Alpha and up until now that Amaru's brother, Remus, took over the position, they're still friends. That's why the foolish Xerxes is very confident in joking around the Gamma. "Where have you been? I've been looking for you for a while because you said the pact warriors have training today," asked Xerxes to him. He just snorted at his friend and continued sharpening his sword. Of course, he cannot tell his friend about the girl he is watching in the forest. "Hey, Dude! Dude! Dude!" Amaru looked at his friend when he heard excitement with his voice. He furrowed his eyebrows trying to ask his friend silently. Xerxes rests his arms on Amaru's shoulders and turned him to look at what he wanted to show the Gamma. "It's Sumeria," Xerxes whispered to Amaru. Amaru looked at the girl who was busy looking around. "Okay, then what?" he cluelessly asked his friend as if he doesn't care, well, he doesn't really care. "She's beautiful, isn't she? Like a goddess!" his friend gasped followed by chuckles. Amaru looked at his friend flatly before he continued doing what he was doing. What's the point of being amazed by anyone's beauty when I already saw the prettiest woman I have ever seen in my entire life? He shook his head trying to distract himself from thinking. "Let's take a look at her first. She only visits here sometimes, let's take this opportunity." "Feast, Dude. I'm not interested," he said coldly without even looking at his friend. When he noticed that his friend was silent, he finally looked at him and he shouted at him when he saw his friend's reaction, "Hey! What the hell?! You're d*mn drooling!" His friend laughed. "Dude, he's very pretty." Amaru just shook his head and ignored his friend. His mind was too full of the image of the woman he watches almost every day, her world just revolves around the pact before, but now, he finally has someone to look after. THE next day, his admiration for the mortal maiden only heightened. He does nothing but protects the girl against any ferocious creatures. She doesn't even know that he exists but here he is, already falling for the girl. "Hey, Dude! What are you doing? Help me find Sumeria, I wanna flirt!" He did not hear his friend, his attention was on a girl who was silently dancing with the butterflies. He continued his sticky stares at the girl he loved without realizing that Xerxes is watching him. Out of curiosity, his friend also peeked at what he was looking at and also saw the girl walking in the forest. "Oh! Finally, we will have a delectable lunch, this time. That's why you're quiet, you selfish evil!" Xerxes jokingly said to him while looking at the girl, Xerxes is excited to hunt the girl anytime soon. "Shut up!" Amaru glared at his friend. "Aren't you hungry?" Xerxes foolishly pouted trying to irritate him, "Look at that body, she looks sweet. Cool! Let's dig in—" He glared at his friend once again to give him a warning that he doesn't like Xerxes jokes. He then looks at the woman again who is now busy arranging flowers to make a flower crown. "I have no plans to eat her," he said calmly. "Nothing?! What do you mean, nothing—" he quickly covered his friend's mouth. "Shut up! You're too loud!" he whispered. But it's too late. "Is there anyone there?" he heard the girl asked, her voice was almost shaking. He glared at his friend to tell him to shut up because he knew that the girl heard Xerxes. You and your mouth, Xerxes! D*mn you! "Maybe I should go home now, this is probably just hunger!" the girl said to herself. He finally let go of his friend but Xerxes spoke loudly again, "Let's catch—" He covered his friend's mouth again to stop him from talking. "Is there anyone there?" the girl repeated. Amaru closed his eyes tightly out of irritation and nervousness. "We might get caught. Shut up!" he whispered to his friend before he finally let him go. "Hello? Is there anyone there?" "Kokak--- kokak---" Amaru facepalmed and punched his friend's arm. Dumb! Amaru's regret quickly enveloped his whole-being when he saw the girl ran away. This is all your fault, Xerxes!
