My Wife Is The Demon King

Heartwarming moment

As I go out of my house and on my way to work, I can see my neighbors greeting me with a wide smile on their faces. I know that they are also happy about me getting a son but somehow it feels weird for them to be happier than me. These people keep on congratulating me and giving me gifts saying that it was for my son.

At least, please your brain to think for a bit. Who gives a congratulations present for a baby boy in the form of gold coins? Although it was common sense that gold coins are the highest grade of currency on top of copper and silver, there's no way to spend it in this village.

From the time I spent in this village, I know that this place is secluded from any civilization. That is also why they are so happy when I first come to this place and of course when my son is born because we finally add some population to this place. It was also good that nobody in this village courted my wife before and that makes me the sole winner of this uncontested battle of love.

Remembering my wife and son back at home, I decided today to work twice as hard as usual. Alright, let's do this. I definitely will make my son proud of me and my work when he grew up later.

Meanwhile, in another continent, a white package was flying through the air. It carried a heavy stench with it as if it was the deadliest poison that ever existed. Any bird that flew near it immediately dropped down to the ground with foam coming out from its mouth.

Finally, it landed in the middle of the Sarton forest. The moment it touches the ground, the nearby plants withered and the soil turned black. In just a few moments, the area nearby turned into a poisonous swamp.

People who live in the vicinity are panicking and screaming, "the demon has come" or "the demon attacked our town". But after some examination, it was found out that a harmful substance is the one responsible for all of this. It wasn't clear if it was done by a demon but there's also a chance that it was all a plot from the nearby kingdoms.

After a full day of working twice as hard, I feel that I run out of energy. I walked towards my house half dragging my body due to fatigue.

"Okaeri." (welcome home)

When I entered the house and take off my shoes, I am greeted by the sight of my wife in an apron while carrying my son in her arms. It was one of the most heartwarming moments that I have seen in my life. At that point, I silently swore in my heart. I will do everything to protect my wife and my son. I will let no harm befall them. I will become the best husband and father in the world for them!
