1080 Words
Ariana was lost in thought of how the man she was so madly in love with would treat her like this, she was wondering what this deal with Jason would turn out to be , she was numb to any emotion at this point and she recalled Henry had always been clear about not wanting kids. Those nights they’d spent together, tangled in each other’s arms, he had whispered secrets—the scars from his childhood, the fear of repeating the past. Ariana had listened, believing their connection was mere physical desire. "he was only telling me what he thought I wanted to hear", she bitterly said to her self. for a moment she forgot she was with someone and just zoned into a space of hate, hurt and wanting to pay back regardless of what this meant. she was going to get back at Henry Griffin. When Ariana arrived at the Harrison estate, it was a palace, she was amazed. The entrance was impressive, with a large gate that led to a path surrounded by a well-kept garden full of roses. As they drove towards the main house, she noticed how everything was perfectly arranged, from the flowers to the fountains. The house itself looked enormous, like something out of a movie about royalty. Ariana realized then that the Harrison family was much wealthier than she had initially thought, and the sheer size and beauty of their home was proof of that. “Your house is really lovely,” Ariana remarked, breaking the silence. “Thanks,” he replied. The car ride had been quiet, with both of them absorbed in their thoughts about the evening ahead. As they arrived, Henry asked, “Are you ready to go in?” “Yeah, I’m ready,” she confirmed. He opened the car door for her and they walked towards the house. Inside, the house was even more impressive than its exterior. They were greeted by a young woman with a radiant smile, introduced by Henry as his little sister. As they moved through the house, Ariana met more of Henry’s large, warm-hearted family. Everyone was kind and welcoming. So far, so good, Ariana thought. Yet, she couldn’t help but worry about meeting Henry’s mother, who was still busy with in a meeting when they arrived. “Need a drink?” he asked, giving her waist a little squeeze to catch her eye. They clicked naturally, their connection was effortless, their gazes at each other was always full of unspoken understanding, and they shared an unexplored mutual respect and admiration. While Henry was fixing her a drink, Mrs. Harrison made her entrance. She didn’t need anyone to tell Ariana who she was; her bold stride and the elegant way she moved said it all. “You must be Ariana,” she greeted, pulling her into a warm hug with a big smile. “I’ve heard plenty about you. But he left out just how gorgeous you are—he didn’t give you enough credit,” she said with a playful nudge. “Welcome to our home,” she added, making Ariana feel like part of the family already. “Thanks a lot, this is a gorgeous place Ma’am,” said Ariana, admiring the house. “Just Patty is fine,” she responded with a smile. As they spent time catching up, Ariana felt more and more like she belonged there, and she couldn’t help but notice Jason’s occasional glances her way. Then Patty brought up the question they were both anxious about: “So, when’s the wedding?” Her eyes were bright with excitement. Jason answered with a bit of hesitation, “We’re thinking of having it this weekend.” Ariana was surprised. They hadn’t talked about a date before, and she didn’t expect it to be so soon. “In three days?” Patty clarified, as all eyes turned to them. “Yes,” Jason said. “We’re planning a small ceremony right here in the garden. Ariana has always wanted a garden wedding.” He took her hand tenderly. “Alright then,” Patty said, satisfied. The rest of the evening went by more smoothly than either of them had anticipated. The next few days went by so fast, at the wedding event, Ellena was the most elated, and the family her daughter was marrying into was one she had always wished for her to marry. The wedding reception was intimate and tasteful, with only family in attendance. During their first dance as Dr. and Mrs. Harrison, Jason whispered to Ariana ‘’you now, I am fine with you not signing a prenuptial agreement’’ he mentioned “I’ll protect your child, and you’ll protect my legacy,” he said, twirling her in front of their loved ones… In an admirable way they danced the night away and enjoyed the company of there closet family. "will you take the bed or couch?", Ariana asked at the suit they were spending there first night as husband and wife. "don't worry about me, I will get the couch and even if we shared the bed nothin would happen", Jason teased as he loosened up "can I order anything for, I' didn't see you eat a thing earlier today" Jason asked as he poured a glass of wine "yeah, my tummy can't seem to hold anything down, didn't want to create a scene", Ariana responded "Tomorrow is the reading of the will, mum asked that we head there early enough before we proceed to our honeymoon...." Jason said with a pinch of hesitation "you didn't say a thing about going for our honeymoon, it wasn't part of the deal" Ariana said "you can forget about it, mum arranged it and I didn't want to go either" Jason stated hiding his disappointment in her not being interested to go. The following day brought the reading of the family will. The lawyer announced that Jason was the sole heir to the Harrison estate and the new chairman of the board. He would lead the family’s business empire, and the will stated that his wife, Ariana, was to be appointed as the vice-chairman. The reading was one that caught the entire Harrison family by surprise as they did not expect the reading of the New Mrs. Harrison being the Vice-Chair. At that instant, Ariana understood the extent of her influence, she had just become a part of the wealthiest family in the country as Mrs. Harrison
