Darin's POV
Pushing the door open, Darwin and I dashed into the room and met Bella standing on her bed. The moment she saw us, she jumped out of bed and unexpectedly leapt at me. On impulse, I held her while she wrapped her legs around my waist and buried her face in my chest.
“What has happened?” Darwin and I asked simultaneously. But Bella didn’t respond; instead, she trembled in my arms.
“s**t,” Darwin exclaimed and pointed in a direction. I turned to where Darwin was pointing and was surprised to see Fala, our family's ancient ancestral cobra, wrapped in a corner.
I sighed and shook my head when I realized Bella must have seen the cobra, prompting her to scream, just like anyone would have done.
