Bella's POV
I watched him silently eat the food, and no matter how much I wanted to speak, I decided it was best to keep quiet, so I wouldn’t annoy him even more. As he ate, I kept on staring at him and couldn’t take my eyes off him. There were times he would catch me staring, but I wouldn’t look away; rather, I would hold his gaze.
“I’m done,” he said as he got up, glanced at me for a moment, and then walked away. After he left, I cleared the table and the maid requested to wash the dishes. Returning to my room, I took a cold bath and lay on my bed while I pondered. I realized my first attempt was almost a disaster, but I wouldn’t allow my second attempt to be a failure.
