The parents

Emily walked away with her mother, leaving me and Jensen alone in the hallway. As soon as they were far away and I was absolutely sure they couldn’t hear me. I turned around to face my Alpha. “Party? What party?” I asked him as my eyes opened wide. My Alpha grinned at me. “The one I am putting together for you as we speak.” He said as he smiled at me. “Why on earth do I need a party?” I asked him as I lifted my hands in wonder. “Why, you ask?” My Alpha laughed at me. “Was I the only one who felt how awkward this was just now? You need alcohol to get loose. What better way for that than a party.” He shrugged at me. “The pack house is already on to it. I made it look like the party is for our Luna, since she is awake and well.” He said as he kept smiling at me. I still didn’t get all the trouble he was taking to pull this off for me. “The Luna won’t even be at the party, she’s still in the hospital.” Jensen pulled his lips together in a thin line. “Yup, but teenagers don’t care about that, as long as they can party, get drunk and have a good time.” He shrugged as he kept looking at me. “Come on Noah! Loosen up, go out tonight and have a good time! Get to know your mate, you finally found her!” he almost yelled at me. The thought of taking her to a party, inside of our pack, made me nervous. I knew how drunk wolves could get. Was I really ready to pull her into that world? “I am really happy you found your mate, Noah.” Jensen spoke to me on a serious note, as I spotted guilt in his eyes again. “Thanks, stop looking at me like that.” I grinned at him. “Like what?” he asked as he playfully pushed me to the side as he started to walk back into Hannah’s room. “Like you sold my soul to the devil.” I laughed at him. Jensen froze in his place as he stared at nothing. Djees! I was just laughing for God's sake! Lighten up dude! I clapped him on his back, leading him back into the room with his mate, “Go be with our Luna, I’ll be fine. Thanks for throwing me a party, you always make me feel special.” I laughed as I winked at him. “Everything for my favorite little boy!” Jensen laughed back as he wiggled his eyebrows playfully before closing the door between us. I slowly made my way back to my SUV. I had a few hours before it was 8 o’clock and I needed some way to fill in this time or I would lose my mind. I felt like I was walking on clouds… I found her! I actually found her! I decided I would pay my parents a visit. They lived close by and it had been too long since I had last seen them. I started the car and pulled back, as I made my way towards their home. I made it there in ten minutes. Every second of the drive, Emily had been on my mind, the sound of her giggle playing on in my mind like a serenade. Can I really be this head over heals for a girl I only saw for a minute? I hopped out of the car and walked towards my parents' house. Growing up, we used to live somewhere else. But with me moving into the pack house and my little brother going off to college, the house had gotten too big and my parents decided to move somewhere smaller. I rang the doorbell and heard my mother's heels click clacking towards the door. As soon as she opened up and saw me standing there, she squeaked and called out to my dead. “Jimmy, come here!” She screamed as she opened the door, already pulling me into her embrace. I rolled my eyes as my mother was holding me like a toddler. OK, maybe I have been gone too long. My dad came walking in the hallway. I could tell by his expression that he was surprised to see me here. “Well well, well, who do we have here?” He walked up to me and started smiling, as he pulled me out of my mother’s arms and gave me a hug himself. “How are you holding up?” He laughed as he stepped back to take a good look at me. I nodded at him. “I’m doing good dad.” My mom took my hand and basically dragged me into the kitchen, pushing me down on a chair as she started making coffee and putting biscuits on the table. Sending me back to my childhood. Biscuits were always a normality. When I would walk in from school or after a day of playing outside, those things were always present on the kitchen table. My dad sat down in front of me as he sighed. “How did the attack go? Hopefully not too many wolves lost their lives.” I pressed my lips into a thin line, not sure about how to talk about this with my father. “It was pretty ugly, but we won. And our Luna is awake finally.” My mother turned around as she smiled and sighed in relief, clearly happy to hear this news. “Thank Goddess for that!” She placed three cups of coffee down on the table as she sat down next to me and took my hand in hers. OK, someone clearly missed me a lot… “So, how are you holding up, it has been too long since you came to visit us, you do need to come here more often, Noah. You hurt your mother when you neglect her.” She smiled at me. I looked up at her, not knowing how to do this next part, so I decided I would just do it quickly, rip the band aid off and be done with it. I took a deep breath and just said it. “I found my mate.” The room got silent, my mom looked at me as her mouth dropped open, getting bigger and bigger until she stood up and started screaming. Really mom? I looked at my dad who just shrugged and gave me the –oh well- look. My mom leaned over and hugged me again. “Oh my Goddess, Noah, you can’t believe how happy this makes me! Who is she? Where did you find her? When can we meet her?” She just kept going on and on, me and my dad just let her do her thing as we sipped our coffee. When she was finally done and she sat back down, I looked back at her. “ OK, one question at a time please.” I grinned at her. My mom was radiating with happiness. “ OK, since when do you know?” I looked at my watch and counted back. “For about an hour now.” My mother gasped for air. “You came to us right away, that is so sweet!” I looked back at my dad, who would just shrug at me again, clearly living with my mom for so many years, he always knew just what to do. “What’s her name?” My mom asked me. “Emily.” I answered her, making me smile as I said her name. I loved speaking out her name. “Well, is she nice? When can we meet her?” My eyes opened up as I tried to calm my mother down. “I don’t know and I don’t know. Mom, I just met her myself. We are meeting up this evening. You can meet her as soon as I get the chance to introduce you to her. I’d like to meet her for myself first if you don’t mind?” My mom never lost her smile after I brought up the news. “I am so happy for you son, you truly deserve this.” My dad just smiled at me. “Well son, you’re lost now.” I laughed as he held his cup of coffee in the air. “But it’s the best feeling in the world. If anyone deserves it, it is you. And I couldn’t be happier for you.”
