Hermione and myself turned in for the night after Luna and Harry left. I walked her to her room and hugged her before I retreated to my own. As I lay in my bed I thought about Mr. and Mrs. Granger and searching for them. Then an idea came to my mind. I spent the night up searching for the places they had been, searching every town and every city. Then I found them, they were residing in a small flat in London... weird they didn't go far. I wrote down the address and then decided it was best to get up and get a shower before I started breakfast.
I had just finished making breakfast and set the table when Hermione came in dressed in a cream colored dress. I smiled and then gasped from shock I saw her hair.
"What did you do?" I asked confused as to why she changed her hair color.
"I made the color a shade or two lighter. Don't you like it?" she asked me as she sat down.
I sat down across from her and just stared.
"Of course I do but blonde really?"
"Well you are blonde? and so you know its not blonde its a golden brown."
We ate our breakfast adn then I decided it was time to give her the news.
"I know where your parents are" I told her.
I watched as her eyes widened.
"Where are they?"
"A flat in London." I paused to take a piece of paper out of the breast pocket of my blazer and handed it to her. "949 Sulley lane."
She looked at me and then down to the paper.
"They haven't left?"
"What do you mean?" I asked her.
"They still live in my house. How is that possible?"
I shrugged my shoulders before I answered her question.
"You may have erased their memories but I guess it was destiny that rooted them there." I replied.
I watched as her eyes began to water and a smile crept across her face. Quickly she got to her feet and wiped her eyes.
"Come on" she said pulling me to my feet. "Lets go."
Taking my hand she turned on the spot and we apparated. When I opened my eyes I was staring up at a brick house, its neighbors were built the same. The mailbox on the side read 'Mr. and Mrs. Granger'.
"Do you know how to lift the memory charm?" I asked her
She nodded her head and walked forward. Slowly she rose her hand up and knocked on the door. Before I could count to five a woman with brown curly hair answered the door. Hermione quickly muttered the counterspell and then again to her father who appeared at his wifes side seconds later. Hastily she put away her wand before her parents minds came to focus.
"Hermione, love what are you doing home?" Her mother spoke a smile on her face.
Without another word Hermione embraced her parents and began crying.
"Hermione, what is wrong?" Her father asked her.
She leaned back and wiped her eyes before smiling.
"Nothings wrong, everything is perfect now." she whispered.
Hermiones mothers gaze found me and she smiled.
"Who is this young man?" She asked Hermione.
"This is Draco, my boyfriend." She took a step back and took my hand.
"Well then, how about you two come inside and I will make a pot of tea" Her mother opened the door and waited for us to cross the threshold before she closed the door.
We all took a seat in the living room and fell into conversation forgetting all about the tea.
"Hermione" Her father began. "Why aren't you in school?"
I wondered if she was going to tell her mother about the war at Hogwarts but surprisingly she didn't.
"I work now, Harry got me a interview at the Ministry of Magic as a Lawyer in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement ." she said proudly.
Her mother and father smiled before bringing her into a hug.
"We are so proud of you honey." they crooned.
I was proud of her too. She was going to be a wonderful healer at the hospital. I sat back and watched as they reminisced on her childhood days and the day she got her Hogwarts level. They bragged about how they knew she was a special girl and that she would become an amazing young woman. They then moved to compliment her new hair color before they turned to me.
"How long have you two been together?" her father asked me
I looked to Hermione who blushed before she spoke.
"We've been together since my second year."
I found her answer very flattering, and was shocked when she counted since the first day we got together. It was as if we had never taken a break or broke up once, she counted every second.
"Five years? When is the wedding?" Her mother joked.
I watched as Hermione shrugged her shoulders to her mothers question.
"I guess when the two of us are ready to settle down." She then answered. "Draco is working with Harry with the Minister of Magic as an Auror"
"What is an Auror?" Her mother asked.
"An Auror is a member of an elite unit of highly-trained, specialist officers within the Department of Magical Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Magic trained to investigate crimes related to the Dark Arts, and apprehend or detain Dark wizards and witches. Auror training is very difficult and intensive, so there are few qualified applicants" Hermione explained in depth. Personally I think she added that last bit - which was entire of its truth - just to brag about me.
"So that is like a police officer or an FBI agent?" Her father asked.
"A what?" I replied confused.
"Police officer and FBI agent is the muggle form of what you will be doing." Hermione explained. "So yes, exactly like that dad"
"Well that is pretty intense."
The conversation went on for about another 30 minutes before it ended. It was now almost 3 in the evening.
"We should invite your parents over for dinner tonight" I told Hermione.
"Really?"
"Yeah, why not I mean we have yet to have them over."
Hermione looked to her Mother and Father.
"Are you able to make it?" They nodded their heads. "Well then we write you instructions" Hermione then turned to me. "They will be able to find it right?"
I nodded my head.
"They should have no problem as long as they have the address"
I knew what Hermione was asking. She wondered if they would be able to find it because the majority of wizard homes had a charm that kept muggles from seeing them.
"So tonight at 6:30" I repeated as I wrote the address down on a piece of paper and handed it to them.
"Wait.. you both live together?" her father questioned as it sank into his mind.
"Yes, we moved in together for the first time yesterday." I replied. I looked over to Hermione who was silent and blushing slightly. She was born and raised into strong morals and I guess living together with her boyfriend sounded bad. "She sleeps in the guest room" I added. "I prefer to wait until marrige before complicating things."
I saw as Hermione's parents seem to relax a bit.
"Well love, your father and I have a few things to get done before dinner so we will see you in a few hours." Her mother said as she got to her feet and pulled Hermione into a hug. "I miss you already." she added.
"You have no idea" Hermione whispered.
Mr. Granger got to his feet and I followed suit before shaking his hand.
"It's a pleasure to meet have met you and your wife." I said with a nod.
I placed my hand on the small of Hermione's back as we headed out the door. Once we were out of the view of muggles we turned on the spot and apparatted back to the manor. Hermione laughed as we made our way to the front door.
"I can't believe you told my father we don't sleep together in the same room." She laughed, shoving me lightly.
"Well did you see the look on his face, I thought he was going to kill me, I was literally fearing for my life." I joked.
