CHAPTER 9
It was the middle of the night and well after visiting hours at Middlemore Hospital but Jessica had been given special permission to stay beside Brendon's bed throughout the second night of his admission. The night nurses and security guards couldn't have been more accommodating. A nurse brought her a late coffee and biscuits while two security guards stopped by every half hour or so to have a chat. Also Stacey had remained in contact in a video link on her iPhone throughout the long evening.
Mum had taken Carla and Austin to her place. Luckily, Jessica had almost phrased Austin out of breast-feeding when she was staying with Stacey so she did not have to worry about his nighttime feeds.
